Looks like you've been busy. If you have the extra time, a roll of electrical tape over the harness and some CRC (green) Brakleen for the exposed wires goes along way toward a factory fresh look. Are you gonna get away with spacers at the transmission crossmember?

Oil leak!

Out of the crank pulley. Sigh.

Also it runs really hot!!!! Everything from the oil pan, to the valve cover, from the alternator, to the carb is hot.

But it also drives!!! So far I have gotten into second, but it needs some work.

Picture time!

Ok so here is how the car sits tonight. Got the fenders, hood back on.

Engine all put back together. I was going to use a different valve cover, but it uses different bolts... Still need to do some cleaning.

Also I lowered the front a bit. It now matches the back! My fenders were off so I figured it was a good time.

And the very scary method How I did it...

Yes I am using a jack to compress the spring so I can lower the collar. Moved it down an inch. Cant go any farther without rubbing the tires.

Sweet fuel line battery tie down!

Haha, you noticed! My real tie down is a bungie... So I am now running a different fuel pump than before, and I need longer line to route the line better.

Damn, someone had a productive Saturday.

Why yes, yes I did. I want my car working! On disassemble I had a friend help me(mistake). I put it all back together myself. The mistake is that I seemed to be missing some bolts/nuts here and there. By I eventually found it all.

Wrinkle black on the air cleaner and valve cover with polished letters.

Lol, you would say that.

That is my exact plan. But not with that valve cover...

But who knew it used shorter bolts? Dang.

I like that idea. BTW, I just noticed the hood struts. That's cool.

Polishing my valve cover right now...

As for the hood struts, got them off of a Honda civic hatch. Looked for the shortest ones with "blades" not the pop onto ball type. Makes it alot nicer to open/close the hood. Hood goes up a bit higher now.

If you want to part with your existing valve cover, let me know.

I have the white one, Probably needs new paint. Cherry picker scratched it.

I also have one that says "Nissan" instead of Datsun, no numbers on it.
