Laecaon
So I feel like I should post some pictures. Motor and tranny are in. See that would block? Yea I knocked it out while putting the head on... head is on. Timing chain is fixed. All million oil pan bolts are tight. tomorrow: oil pump, distributor, fuel pump, wiring, radiator, fluids, grill, dash, and hopefully windows. Quote Link to comment
DRIVEN
Looks like you've been busy. If you have the extra time, a roll of electrical tape over the harness and some CRC (green) Brakleen for the exposed wires goes along way toward a factory fresh look. Are you gonna get away with spacers at the transmission crossmember? Quote Link to comment
Jester
HURRY UP!!! I want to see this at the drive in tonight. And fix you location. Corvallis OR Hilsboro? Not even close to each other. Quote Link to comment
Laecaon
Tryin Jes!!!! and the location was cuz my home is in Hillsboro, but I was usually at school in Corvallis. Quote Link to comment

Laecaon
Well got the car running... Needs some tuning, but I cant get near it. Got gear oil on the exhaust, makes such a stink! But its running!!!! Quote Link to comment
Laecaon
Oil leak! Out of the crank pulley. Sigh. Also it runs really hot!!!! Everything from the oil pan, to the valve cover, from the alternator, to the carb is hot. But it also drives!!! So far I have gotten into second, but it needs some work. Quote Link to comment
Laecaon
Oil leak fixed! yay. Running a bit smoother now. Kinda wanna actually reassemble the car now... Quote Link to comment
Laecaon
Picture time! Ok so here is how the car sits tonight. Got the fenders, hood back on. Engine all put back together. I was going to use a different valve cover, but it uses different bolts... Still need to do some cleaning. Also I lowered the front a bit. It now matches the back! My fenders were off so I figured it was a good time. And the very scary method How I did it... Yes I am using a jack to compress the spring so I can lower the collar. Moved it down an inch. Cant go any farther without rubbing the tires. Quote Link to comment
WAGON JON
Sweet fuel line battery tie down! Quote Link to comment

Laecaon
Sweet fuel line battery tie down! Haha, you noticed! My real tie down is a bungie... So I am now running a different fuel pump than before, and I need longer line to route the line better. Damn, someone had a productive Saturday. Why yes, yes I did. I want my car working! On disassemble I had a friend help me(mistake). I put it all back together myself. The mistake is that I seemed to be missing some bolts/nuts here and there. By I eventually found it all. Laecaon
Wrinkle black on the air cleaner and valve cover with polished letters. Lol, you would say that. That is my exact plan. But not with that valve cover... But who knew it used shorter bolts? Dang. Quote Link to comment
izzo
I knew it used shorter bolts, actually. Only cuz i had one  Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
when compression the spring I stick the jack under the outer part of the hub where it pockets itself in the jack cup.then jack it up. to drop the lower A arm down. then lower jack you have a 620 fuel pump on there. a 510 one will have the inlet in the correct (better spot) but Im sure you know this already. DRIVEN
Wrinkle black on the air cleaner and valve cover with polished letters. I like that idea. BTW, I just noticed the hood struts. That's cool. Quote Link to comment
Laecaon
I like that idea. BTW, I just noticed the hood struts. That's cool. Polishing my valve cover right now... As for the hood struts, got them off of a Honda civic hatch. Looked for the shortest ones with "blades" not the pop onto ball type. Makes it alot nicer to open/close the hood. Hood goes up a bit higher now. Quote Link to comment

Jester
If you want to part with your existing valve cover, let me know. Quote Link to comment
Laecaon
If you want to part with your existing valve cover, let me know. I have the white one, Probably needs new paint. Cherry picker scratched it. I also have one that says "Nissan" instead of Datsun, no numbers on it. Quote Link to comment
