BAM!!!!!! Jessi's dad funded it and I made it happen for her birthday!

S13 KA24DE, "unknown mileage" and pulled "for an SR swap"

I also scored an automatic KA trans from Jrock! Jessi wants a nice daily cruser and the KA automatic is a pretty damn good trans so that's what we are doing! I can't wait to use the goon on long road trips :D

Jessi wants to build this one on her own since she watched my KA swap happen, so were gunna collect parts and go one step at a time till everything is done and ready to drop in. No real finish date in mind but we have 60% of the swap already .

wow, bump steer spacers make a pretty big difference!!!!

the new tires should be here this week, we will get them mounted then an alingment! that should wrap up the "need to do" list and let me get to work on the "want to do" list!!!

WOOT WOOT

so after the tires and an alignment, i want to break down the SU's, clean them, install a Z therapy rebuild kit, and tune them again cus i have a much better understanding of how to tune them now!

Do you guys know how hard it was to ignore all the builds on the way to this out on page 6 !!??

Anyway don't know if you gave much thought to having a color matched rear hatch ,, but i seen this one on the List of Craigs . Kinda pricey for all the doors but maybe they would part with just the hatch of doom.

If it even is the right color

Got some SU tuning advice from JustJoel and was able to get he goon dialed in a little better :)

And jessi just picked this up with her tax refund so we can really dial in the motor

That will make your life so much easier, I have the same one on my car and don't know how I ever lived without it.

ok, could use a hand with this one guys.....

back story:

i took the carbs apart to clean them

only removed the domes

pulled the pistons and spring

adjusted the needles

cleaned everything above

and re adjusted the gas mixture a bit

after that i ended up with this wonderful little sound that i cant find for the life of me......... its the ticking noise in this vid

th_3BC8A831-147A-4251-8D25-09CDCFDDABB2_

the sound seems to move..........

it only happens at idle and the first half second of acceleration from a stop

to me it sounds like a "rattle"

its not a consistent noise, it will stop and start at random and i cant trigger the noise or stop it

ive already pulled the valve cover (valves, springs, lash pads and cam all look just as good and when i got them back from the machinist 6k miles ago

no oil in the antifreeze and vise verse no antifreeze in the oil

the car actually performs better after the tune up than it did before

so i pulled the carbs apart again at the suggestion of a friend so heres some pics the the 2nd time around
