Gensaiken
its too bad to see another one go down. Lots of good parts left to buy back. Lucky your seat belt didn't snap. Supposedly that's a big problem with cars these old. :( This kind of situation is the very reason why my car has seen the road only twice this year. Quote Link to comment
DISLEXICDIME
Don't worry Phil we will build it better stronger and faster than before ! on a side note you can roll with me to blue lake! Quote Link to comment
Sinnful
sorry about the 510 that sucks not sure if you have been in wrecks before, but if your back and neck are sore. go see a chiro!! do not trust the normal doctors on that. they will say heres some drugs and let me know in a few days. been there done that. teh last wreck I was in I had to be adjusted and a massage three times a week for like 6 months. Phlebmaster
Sorry to hear your dime is a loss. :( Quote Link to comment

mazdat
That sucks bro, good thing that you or anyone else did not get seriously hurt, get you a clean shell and start swapping parts over:) Quote Link to comment
philcas1987
I'm starting to forget how it smells, feels, drives. Haven't looked at it in a week. Its my only car. My daily. Got a first offer from farmers; 3500 and get to keep the car. Quote Link to comment
kiznook
take it! It won't be worth fighting them to maybe get another 500-1000 Quote Link to comment
72240z
That sounds like a fair number to me. A clean shell plus your labor and you should be back to 0. No? Quote Link to comment
lynchfourtwenty
agreed, sounds fair.. way better then what bonvo got.. Quote Link to comment
MikeRL411
Just make damned sure this settlement doesn't include a salvage title! If it does, and you can't get a better deal, register it as a "custom", or call your cousin in Alabama. Quote Link to comment
72240z
If they are paying out and he gets to keep the car I can't imagine anyway it won't be with a salvage title. What difference does it make if it's genuinely totaled and all is getting swapped anyway? I'm no expert though just going by esp. Quote Link to comment
philcas1987
That's a "fair" price for a 510 in the condition mine was. turns out they didn't know about the engine swap, and parts it took to build it. I'm a receipt pack rat so I have receipts down to tha last stainless steel bolt. They said to send in any receipt that is not maintenance stuff. Quote Link to comment
72240z
It sounds to me like they are being pretty nice. I was told performance upgrades to be insured had to be appraised 1st (So they can adjust the premium). Glad to hear they are doing right by you. Edited August 4, 2009 by 72240z Quote Link to comment
philcas1987
Its farmers so they don't have my best intrest in mind. They said they want to take a look at them. I already know what 510 I'm going to get. So any money after is for yet another 510 to build with the parts. Quote Link to comment
DISLEXICDIME
the real questio is after they look at your mods will they lower the price :fu: Quote Link to comment
philcas1987
^^^ that be some funny shit. Then I would get what I deserve. Quote Link to comment
thisismatt
No offense to your car, but I'd be smiling all the way to the bank if I owned it and they gave me $3500 and I got to keep the car Quote Link to comment
philcas1987
I'm more than happy for that amount. But it can't hurt to send them the receipts. Quote Link to comment
yello620
I too think that you got a very good offer the first time around, but having been through this already when my truck was totaled, hold out for a few more days after they get the receipts. They will come to about $4200 pretty fast, but not budge after that is my guess. Quote Link to comment
az_rat210
Talk to a Lawyer. Judging from the Damage, you were hit at 40+ MPH. Due to your car rear ending the car in front of you, this is going to be a Legal nightmare. Whatever offer Farmers makes, be sure its ONLY as a settlement on the vehicle not for the Accident as a whole and settle only with permission from your Lawyer. See a Chiropractor, your looking at Whiplash damage because you knocked back from the initial impact and then forward from the front end crash. I can tell you from my past 3 experiences that your looking at over $7k in diagnosis and adjustment cost with a Chiropractor, and if your hurting now its going to get worse within the next few weeks probably. Sorry about the Dime. Sharp little car. Quote Link to comment
philcas1987
Good news. I have an attorney on my side. Hopefully I get the check for the car next week. Quote Link to comment
Bleach
Get some massages. You should have $10,000 in your PIP to spend. Its not just because it "feels" good, your body really needs healing. Quote Link to comment
philip1
First I want to say I'm glad you are OK. I tear up every time I see a Datsun die. I hope it's heart will live on in another Datsun. Quote Link to comment
