edekalil
Dreamt about how mine could be after looking at all the ones here. Thinking about the blue one. 1 Quote Link to comment
paradime
That's a sweet 510 sedan. How do you unlock the doors and trunk. I saw way back where people where putting the parts in the doors and trunk to use a fob to open them. The driver door has a remote solenoid and the trunk opens with a leaver cable release. The fuel call is filled from the trunk so the gas door is permanently shut. Kind of an anti-bling super clean stripped down look to celebrate the pure form. I wanted it to look like a concept car version of the 510. Quote Link to comment

jovial_cynic
280zx MC swap done. I've already swapped out the front strut/brake assembly, but it looks like I need to swap left/right assemblies to avoid having sudden brake failure. Next stop: rear disc brakes. Quote Link to comment
edekalil
Got her gas tank back in, with some new fuel hose and clamps. Now she is running under her own power again. No more trashy gas junk in the tank clogging things up. And sending unit is working now in car. Still have tons to do her just to keep her stock. 2 Quote Link to comment

edekalil
Got to look at her for a moment so she starts and runs on her own but now got to look at the rear wheel cylinders and or master cylinder. Rear wheels are like the breaks are on and not returning letting them turn freely. The pedal is stiff and feels strange when bleeding. Hoping it's just the rear wheel cylinders. Just fixt all this a short while back. Quote Link to comment
freekwonder
Installed some door panels and speakers. Yup, I'm an idiot and cut holes into T3 panels to install speakers, shoot me. Didn't use their self taping screws to mount them. Bought some new hardware and drill and tapped the holes. Just need new door handles and window cranks now. . 2 Quote Link to comment
edekalil
Can't do a thing this Sunday and Monday (my off days) cause my radiator went south when I got to work and had to drop it off at the Radiator shop. Will have to hang in New Orleans instead. Was looking forward to doing a few things to the Goon. Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
I put up some covers in the windows to protect the recovered dash from the sun. I'm probably not going to have the chance to work on my wagon for most the winter. Quote Link to comment

edekalil
Took it out for the longest drive in over 3 years and it felt great thanks Aki at black trax Dimeguy510 Yah I know that feeling, even though I have several 510's that's how I feel when I get to drive any one of them. Here soon (probably not that soon) I should have the break issue fixed on the 70/510 and then get my Goons gas tank back in and get it running. To me it's like a getting in a Time Machine and going back to the 1970's. If i could only find soom JC's now. Quote Link to comment
edekalil
Ordered one of these taller filters and clips and top and bottom for the Goon since I am not able to use the taller adaptor for the carb. Figured why not more air flow. Quote Link to comment

edekalil
Got a chance to swap out the break master cylinder on the 70 2 door sedan befor I had to go to Florida for Thanksgiving. The pedal feels way better just have to wate till I get back in a couple of weeks to give her a ride and see. The pedal had been getting tighter and the rear wheels would not freely turn when they where jacked up off the ground. While bleeding the master cylinder that was in it it felt strange the pedal was stiff and not as smooth when pushing down on it. The rear wheels did loosen up after I cracked the bleeders without pushing the pedal. Just in case I had got a couple of wheel cylinders, the others where not leaking. Quote Link to comment
twistedimages
Cleaned the windshield, shined up the wheels, and drove out for a photo shoot with some friends! I'll post more pictures when the photographer sends them my way. Feels good to take this thing out of the garage and drive it! 5 Quote Link to comment
ddrum
Installed a head shaver shim since the head is extremely shaved and the chain would make a noise upon start up, now it barely makes it! but it'll do for now! Turned out great! Then went for a drive around the neighborhood since the car hasn't been running since 1990 ( couldn't risk going further) 2 Quote Link to comment

Then went for a drive around the neighborhood since the car hasn't been running since 1990 ( couldn't risk going further) When you say head saver shim, I have a L20B that I have to put together and I had to buy a shim kit of a certain thickness because of the head surface being tried up. These shims go between the cam tower and head. Just wondering if you had the same thing. Ok now I look at the pics I see what you have it's like the head gasket. Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
He's referring to the copper head gasket shim showing in one of his pics installed on the block. Quote Link to comment
