It's not the needle/nozzle in the body of the carb that was having issues, it was the plunger/ball mechanism that sits on top of the fuel bowl. I believe that I have fixed the problem. 

 

The lever the pushes the plunger in when the float rises was not adjusted correctly, or somehow came misaligned over the past few days. I've run the car around campus a couple times now and there are no leaks. I'm going to keep watching it for a while and make sure that it has stopped leaking...

That's the needle valve (what we are both talking about)... as apposed to the metering needle and nozzle.

So when you said return lines did you mean the overflows?

 

I've got them running into hardlines that dump under the frame rail as opposed to back into the air cleaner. The gasket had failed (or was misaligned) which was causing it to come out of both the top of the bowl and through the overflow.

Fabbed up a new coil bracket for my VG. Now I can hide the coil at the rear of the engine and clean up the engine bay even more!

found out the alt is deffinately dead no voltage from the alt pin........damn off to junkyard LOL!
