  1. You're lucky I sold the 620. Those are exactly what I was looking for to replace that damn Hitachi that I couldn't get to idle. Good thing I already have more SU's than I need for all the R series stuff that I am building. Plus a nice collection of Mikuni 40 mm junk for the stroker that is waiting for its turn to get dropped into the '70 1600. I will be hoarding intakes and carbs for the 1200 starting in a couple of weeks so stand back!
  2. Ten dollars says you have a ground going bad some where on the car.
  3. Tow yards do it just the way I lined out above in OR. Came straight from the horse's mouth. It's all about having that undeliverable registed letter and lien paperwork in order.
  4. You can put a lien on a car yourself in OR. Going through the hoops right now to get a title for a Roadster. If you own property, declare the car abandond and charge a fee for "storage". Send a Registered Letter to the last known owner. When it comes back to you, take that to the DMV and apply for the title. Each state has their own set of requirements that need to be met.
  5. Sorry guys, The 620 went to live at a new home, but is still in the Ratsun family. I'll let the new owner make his own announcement about it. Thanks for all the interest and stay tuned for pics of my new 1200 soon. Mike aka exit64
  6. Nolan lives in The Dalles, OR. He brings one or both of his Chinooks to the annual car show here in Hood River. His blue one is insane. My daily driver is a 1983 Toyota 4x4 and I would do one of these in a hot second if I could find a decent Chinook camper to throw on the back. He really knows his stuff when it comes to the 20 and 22R's. Here are a few of the shots that I took of his rides. Awsome work and attention to detail. http://picasaweb.google.com/exit64/ChinookCampers#
  7. Rubberman is correct. For some reason it fell off of my profile and I had to re-add it. Weird. Actually any chance I get hassle Pete I jump at and this one was just too easy. All PM's have been replied to and in the order recieved. If the first deal goes through then I will PM the rest of you and let you know. I promised the guy that I would wait until this weekend as that is the soonest he can make it out to God's country.
  8. Here's one for you guys. This was at the Hood River rod show this summer. I think the guy is from Vancouver,Wa. The HR Airport is named after my neighbor, Ken Jernsadt, who flew with the AVG and was leader of Flight Three. His plane number was 88. After the Tigers he went on to become a test pilot for the P-47 project. Talk about having some stories! http://picasaweb.google.com/exit64/FlyingTiger#
  9. U Haul has a variety of sizes of boxes. Also check your local computer store. I think that a pair of rims will go in some of the boxes that they ship towers in. FYI, the cheapest way to move bigger freight around the country is Greyhound. Medium fast but you ship damn near anything as long as it fits under the bus.
  10. Steve is first in line on this one. Just so you guys know, this is a Ratsun price only. It goes up if I put it on CL. I want to keep it in the family, so to speak. I have turned down good money in the past for Roadsters just cause I thought the guy was a speculator looking to make a quick buck. My whole thing is about keeping them on the road and enjoying them for what they are. Mike aka exit64
  11. Yep, I'm in Hood River, Orygun. The milage on the truck is 108K. I know it's only been around once because Paul told me that himself once when I was pestering him with questions about his truck. The tags on her are good until Dec. 08, too.
  12. I hate to do this but I just picked up another Datsun so I need the room. This was my neighbor's truck and I never saw anyone else drive it and I have known him 15 years. It was bought new off the lot here in Hood River so it is about as local as it gets. Paul passed away last spring so he has no use for it. I will sell it for exactly what I am into it for, which is $875.00. She is straight and clean. Needs paint and the carb needs to be either adjusted or rebuilt. Still has all the smog stuff on it and I also have 2 extra Hitachi carbs that go with it that I got from Phlebmaster. Also has 2 mounted studded snow tires. The five speed works flawlessly and this truck has more get up and go than my '83 Toyota that has a new motor in it. I got this truck with the intention of building the 620 that Fisch drew but I just scored a sweet 1200 that will take up all my time this winter. I figured I would give you Ratsun boys first crack at this, otherwise I am putting it on CL in a week. All the pictures I have are in the posted album. You can also give me a call on my cell which is the best way to reach me. 541-490- eight, four, three, zero. http://picasaweb.google.com/exit64/Datsun620#
  13. Triangle Auto out of Yakima has the best prices that I have founds so far. They are on ebay all the time but with a different user name. I called the toll free on ebay and was suprised 'cause I used to buy TR parts from them 25 years ago when I lived in YakiVegas.:fu: Very good parts house.
  14. City, Go to 311s.org and look at the wheel and tire section. Alvin has pictures of just about any wheel combo that you can think of in our bolt pattern. Great resource. Thanks for the Ronal's. I am in the process of stripping them down so that I can powder coat the insides gunmetal with a polished rim. Mike aka gorgeflyer
  15. This guy should go back in time and learn that no matter how much you use capital letters, it still won't sell a bad idea.
  16. Nice shots. I went up into Post Canyon here yesterday since they started logging. 8 Track and GP are gone forever. More stuff will get built but some primo single track and free ride pay the price every time we get a big storm out here so that HRCF get to sell a " salvage" unit. Rapists.:fu:
  17. The tin worms have made swiss cheese of that one. Too bad. Then again, I did buy a "good" heater valve from this clown once. Both inlet and outlet were dented from what looked like a set of vice grips and the damn thing was frozen solid. I keep it around just to remind myself not to be a tight ass and to buy NOS whenever possible. Thanks for the lesson.
  18. Sick Goon. Did he happen to throw out a "make it go away" number?
  19. I'd be interested in those. Where are you located? PM me your # and I will give you a ring. Mike aka exit64
  20. Nice parquait floors. That EZ8 is great for getting off the first layer of finish but not what you want to end with. Go through all the grits up to 80 or 100 with the drum sander and then switch over to a buffer with a 150 screen on it. Use an edger on the sides, or the ager as I like to call it. Heavy cut on the finish and lighter cut to get the scratches out. Random orbital for the final and to blend into the area that you couldn't reach with the buffer. I do this for a living so that's all you get for free. The real knowledge will cost you 3.25 a square foot.:D Just kidding, drop me a pm if you want the magic formula for finish. You will like the results. Mike aka exit64 Hood River floor whore- I grind for money!
  21. Shifty worked out the details to make the MP3 player work with a stock am/fm unit. It uses the aux pigtail that was for an cassette or eight track unit. The details can be found at 311s.org. Works great. I saw it with my own eyes in his garage while he was hammering out the details. No one is going to rip off a stock radio unit from the seventies.
  22. You guys should check out American Family. I have my 83 Toyota 4x4 which is my daily work truck, a 67 Mustang Cvt, and a 70 1600 Roadster with them. The Pony and Roadster are fully covered as classics for about $30 a month. Some jackass just hit and run the Roadster and AmFam payed out with zero hassle. Great customer service and a local agent who's hot. Almost makes me happy to part with the green, but not quite.:D
