This yard goes through their cars very fast. I would expect this one to only be in the yard for another week!

If this really is the SE trim as they stated, then it has the CA16DE engine. Smaller version for 1987. The CA18DE came in 1988 and 1989 SE
Also, this is Lakewood. They only have the cars in the yard for 2-3 weeks max although they would never tell you this.

Anybody in the San Diego/Chula Vista area can check out a 210 for me? One of the guys I know can't get there til Tuesday and I'm hoping what I want is in good shape and won't be gone before then but if one of you all is out there and doesn't mind looking I'd appreciate it. There's a yellow 210 at the LKQ in the Chula Vista East lot. It's a yellow 4 door with brown interior. Brown hardly ever shows up. I'd like an extra steering wheel if it isn't too crusty. If one of you is going there can you holla? PM me and I'll send you my cel so you can text pics. It's on the lot today so it's fresh.

This car probably has a CA20e engine and R180 rear diff, 4.11 ratio from what I remember about the 200SX

 

Lakewood has a high flow of incoming vehicles. They go through their parts cars as fast as needed to bring in new inventory so if you want parts, get there fast! I've seen cars come and go in just two weeks.

Could have that rare 4.11 rear axle. uncommon long bed. 1979 is more likely to have a few little extras on the interior. Look for tachometer, radio, wiper delay switch, unique door panels.

 

These still came with either a 4-speed or 5-speed if it is a manual and L20b

The 4.375 came on all automatics and Cab/Chassis '79 620s. On 4 and 5 speeds it was an option, otherwise it was 4.11. The 720 2wd Z22 automatics were 4.11 and on some Cab/Chassis trucks

Mine had 5spd but didn't have the 4.11, did come with the larger fuel tank.

Long wheelbase standard cab. They had the larger longer tanks. The 4x4s were all slightly larger than the 2wd same model.

Yeah, had to do serious mods and fabrication to put my KC with KA24E on there, but worked out well, that chassis had 40k original miles on it, was a well preserved truck up until the PO wrecked it.

Vancouver Island. Wondering if there is much interest in 720 parts. Have a potential source of vehicles and am wondering if it is worth my time, effort and cash outlay to buy them and part them out.

I went out to get some parts for my '73 620 front suspension... but it's a '79 so I struck out on that. I did grab a few little bits and pieces for my spares inventory. Then I went back out there yesterday and got some other stuff.

 

I wish I had a place to store crap... I mean I do, but it's jammed already... It's hard to look at parts that are not really fucked up and not want to take them. It got late in the day and I forgot to grab the Gas Door on the bed, and the intake manifold. There  haven't been any 620s around here for months, this is the first and only one around PDX.

 

I think I should grab the L20 head and valve cover. The Alt and Starter look like recent Napa replacements. The valves look gunky, I think it was prolly running but got crashed. Should pull the engine and tranny. The door skins are in surprisingly good shape. The driver door regulator is gone but the driver's glass in in the bed. The passenger door is still unmolested. Both door skins look straight and relatively rust free. These  side windows are not available anywhere... are they... don't think so. The bed is really rusty. The tailgate is straight and rusty but worth working on. The hood could be worked on but it's hurtin'.  Things like the hood hinges and bolts should be saved. I grabbed the hood release and latches. The windshield valance is straight... and there are  wiper parts that should be saved. The windshield looks good too for a couple bucks. The heater got stripped out but left me some perfect defroster vent tubes!!!! 

 

We are looking at this stuff go away. I remember going to the first Pick "n Pull style yard in San Jose about 2000 or so. There were at least a dozen 620s, some 520/521's ... tons of Z cars, 510s. And they were still in good shape, most never should have been junked. So now the Datsuns that are left have been rusting for another 19 years. It's gonna be slim pickin's soon.

 

What do ya think? Should I go out there and throw some money at it? Anybody need anything?

The LKQ in monrovia has a 1974 610. It's incorrectly listed as a B210 so for all I know the year might be wrong too. It was on the lot as of yesterday.

The front bumper over riders and side rubbers are from Aug '75 on... so that would make it an '86 model year. 'Course it could have been replaced.

It did have round headlights and I generally associate that with 70s and earlier since it seems square eyes are an 80s thing. I don’t know anything about 610s. You’d know better than I would. I just know 210s 😁

Stanley is so lucky to have you for an owner. The new '80 720 went to 4 rectangular lamps as did the '80 A10 and the '80 S110 200sx. The 810 switched for '79 and the 210 in '79 1/2  the 280zx never did.... and so began a new design era that round lamps would clash with. Cars and trucks became more boxier less coke bottle swoopie.

And I am lucky to have Stanley as a car. Pretty sure he’ll out live me. Cars now just have no character. They all look alike and a lot of them have massive blind spots. Can’t see shit out of any of the windows.
