I have only just seen this thread.

Good job posting up and letting everyone know about this.

Next time something like this happens, shoot me and Mike a PM to be sure it hits our radar as well as posting a thread.

maybe we could have a better vetting process. I have joined other forums where there is a question like "how many cc's is a A14 engine" when you register a new account Forcing the person to google it or whatever and find the info. Something like that added could at least keep the lazy scammers out.

Maybe a multiple choice test on how to spell timing, lose vs loose...

Good point if you have a blind spot like I apparently do.

Can't you handle it yourself?

Unfortunately it's part of the forum set up, and it may not even be an option. Just a thought. New members can't post pictures right away either but I don't have access to this. Like  taxi driver I can operate the car, even back up and make U turns.... but I don't know how the automatic transmission works or how to fix it.

I wasted some of the scammers time I emailed him and he responded asking what I’m looking for I told him I’m looking for a turbo off a Japanese 510 taxi. It’s a rare part so I have $15000 to spend.. he told me he has one and I have to send it friends and family haha 😂… tried to get him to send me $100 to prove he’s real then I’d send the money.. he finally caught on. Then I told him I’d cut his fingers off and stick them in his butt… anyways if anyone tries to scam you waste their time it’s a blast 💥

I'll have to do this with the scammers from now on. My old friend used to get the people who call on the phone to sell you crap, he'd keep them on for ever and then they cought on and when he'd answer they know it was him and they started hanging up.

These scammers were trying to get me. I have a WTB ad for a wagon gas tank and a user called donaldrudicel775 ( new user) messaged me saying email a user named Beowulf at eboardinc6@gmail.com as he has a tank for sale. I did and he sent me pics but they were of sedan models and then sends me a pic of a plastic tank and I said that's not a wagon tank. He emails me back saying can I send him a pic of what a wagon tank looks like? Right there I just stopped talking to him as he obviously doesn't know what he's talking about.

I got a second message from Scolari01 ( new user) saying email MarkScott667@outlook.com. I am not even bothering emailing as another "new user" doing the same routine. Keep an eye on who these new users are and asking you to email people.

I got this e mail the other day and posted it elsewhere. It was in German so I google translated it. It's basically extortion.....

Hello! Unfortunately, I have unpleasant news for you. About a few months ago, I managed to get complete access to all the devices you use to browse the Internet. I then monitored all of your internet activity. You can see a summary of the sequence of events below: Previously, I bought hackers special access to various email accounts (currently this is a rather straightforward thing that can be done online). Of course, I could easily log into your email account. A week later, I started installing a trojan into the operating systems of all of your devices that you use to log into your email account. Actually, this was a pretty easy thing (since you opened some links in your email inboxes beforehand). Genius lies in simplicity. Thanks to this software I can access all controllers in your devices (e.g. your video camera, microphone, keyboard, etc.). I could easily download all of your data, photos, web browsing history and other information to my servers. I have access to all your social media accounts, messengers, emails, including chat history and contact list. This virus of mine constantly updates its signatures (since it is controlled by a driver) and therefore goes unnoticed by antivirus software. With this, I believe that at this point it is already clear to you why I was never discovered until I sent this letter... While compiling all the information concerning you, I also found out that you are a real fan and frequent visitor of websites for are adults. You really enjoy browsing through porn websites while watching arousing videos and experiencing unimaginable satisfaction. To be honest, I couldn't resist recording some of your kinky solo sessions and compiling them into several videos that end up showing you masturbating and cumming. If you still don't trust me, it only takes me a few clicks to distribute all these videos to your colleagues, friends and even relatives. Additionally, I can upload them online for the entire public to access. I strongly believe that you definitely don't want something like this to happen considering the kind of naughty things that are in the videos you usually watch (you definitely understand what I'm trying to say), then it will end in complete disaster for you. We can still solve it in the following way: You transfer me 1900 EUR (a Bitcoin equivalent based on the exchange rate during the transfer). After I receive the transfer, I will immediately remove all these hot videos without any hesitation. Then we can pretend it never happened. Additionally, I ensure that all malicious software is disabled and removed from all your devices. Don't worry, I'm a man of my word. It's really a good deal at a considerably low price considering I've been monitoring both your profile and traffic over a long period of time. If you don't yet know about the process of buying and transferring Bitcoins, you can easily find out the necessary information online. My Bitcoin wallet is as follows: 1GG4TWd7vkqk4Hxr1bFJNmDQRdfELZt2P9 You have 48 hours left and the countdown starts right after opening this email (2 days to be exact). Remember to do and not to do the following: Do not attempt to reply to my email (this email was generated in your inbox). Do not attempt to call the police or other security services. Plus, don't even think about sharing it with your friends. If I find out about this (it would be very easy given my skills since I have all your systems under my control and constant monitoring), your dirty video will become public without delay. Don't try to look for me - it's completely useless. Cryptocurrency transactions always remain anonymous. Do not attempt to reinstall your devices' operating system or even remove them. It is also meaningless since all your private videos are already available on remote servers. Things to worry about: That I won't receive the transfer you made. Relax, I can track it immediately after you complete the money transfer because I continuously monitor all the activities you do (my Trojan virus can control all processes remotely, just like TeamViewer). That I will continue to distribute your videos after you transfer the money to me. Believe me, it's sin for me

This is why I don't download free porn.

Just got a message from this same member "donaldrudicel775" one of my wanted post. I used to sell things online for a living. So I'm pretty good at spotting shenanigans like these.

donaldrudicel775 is a member from July. Beowulf for much longer. No complaints that I know of.

So what exactly is the scam???? Perhaps just a member helping another member out.

If I were you, I'd contact beowolf directly and ask him.  I received a very similar msg. and the person referenced had no idea what I was talking about.  2nd, ask them for a picture of the item....don't be surprised if the picture doesn't match.

How many posts does Donald have?  I just looked ZERO/

2 indicators, that I saw were:

he have some items (poor English)

he referred you to a dif location/email address

I hear a train whistle....Danger Will Robinson

If you're selling something on a platform like ebay and someone contacts you stating that they would rather communicate by means of personal email outside of the selling platform's messaging system, tuck tale and run. It's a huge red flag. I am subscribed to a sellers group on facebook with over 45K members and this kind of scam comes up regularly.

Who knows maybe donald's ledgit but I wasn't about to find out. He asked me to message to a personal email outside this platform and also donald has 0 posts. I was suspicious so I searched the name on this forum and the above message came up in the results. Maybe donald is using a legit memebers name "beowulf" and giving out scammy email addresses.

For reference he gave benzo the email address "eboardingc6@gmail.com" for beowulf. And he gave me "hooting37@gmail.com" also for beowulf. Maybe you should contact beowulf and ask him which one of this emails is the right one.

Edit: I know this forums selling/wanted posting page gives you an option to use your personal email as a way to communicate. I don't use that option for security reasons.

Neither of those is Beowulf's. donaldrudicel775 has not posted but may have spent the last 6 months directing members to other e mail addresses. That would not show up on the forum.
