datsunfreak
Charlie, the Vins all match on this truck. I did check that before leaving bull head. Does Washington do bonded titles? the big questions will you and Funtana be in Fontana for the SWDP barbecue on August 18th? Seriously, who wants to go to Fontucky in the middle of August?!? :P Although to someone from the Phoenix area, I'm sure that's no big deal... 1 Quote Link to comment

Charlie69
Bonded title is what we do in AZ to get title and registration for a vehicle that the title has been lost and sold withouy a title. This is what I did on my 85 ST 720. I took the truck in for level 2 inspection at the Motor vehicle department. I sent sentified letter to Last registered owner at the last registered address and waited 14 days for a response. No response so MVD set a value of $2500 on the truck and I went to a bonding agent and paid $75 dollars for a bond for any claims that may come up for a year after the date of the bonded title is created. The bond helps to cover legal fees and court costs if anyone claims ownership of the bonded title vehicle. I have clear title for the 85 King cab 720 ST as it has been a year now since I titled it and there has been no claims aginst the truck. Quote Link to comment

They hand you a title. 1 Quote Link to comment

Seeker > 620 KC
Here is a link to what I think is Choptana. I know that Choptana went to Las Vegas with either Darrin or Danny of SWDP. https://mohave.craigslist.org/cto/d/1979-datsun-620-chop-top-truck/6603803554.html Contact the seller. The reasons I did not buy the 4 door truck was Steroid had swapped around the VIN tags and the one on the 4 door was not the correct one. The 4 door cab was up there when I was up there the problem with it besides the number tag was the fact that the bed, doors, and other parts were at a body shop in CA. Talked to the body shop and they wanted a $1000 for the parts and these parts had been stored outside and looked like shit. I noticed that the VIN tags on all the trucks I looked at had been switched and with the step daughters attitude you would never get the correct VIN and corresponding title. Farmer sorry to here she screwed you on the sale of the green truck. I wish I had known you were coming down to buy it. I might have been able to save you the trip. At this point contact the seller of Choptana and see if you both have the other VIN plates and titles. Maybe you can swap them. Steroid was not one that did much mechanical to his trucks but he did try to get body and paint done. Down here all you would do is spend about $300 dollars and a $25 level 2 inspection done and they would put a blue MVD sticker on the drivers door jamb and record the existing #s. Butt there is always the chance that they could confiscate the truck for swapped VIN Tags. On my 85 King Cab ST the vin tag on the dash was missing so I had to due the Blue MVD sticker but the sticker. The VIN number was AZ sticker # that was issued to that truck. The VIN # is also stamped on the inside of the right frame rail by the oil filter or frame rail. One you clean it and copy the number, you might have better luck requesting one from P.O. or from DMV? 1 Quote Link to comment

Charlie69
Sorry to here this Farmer. You paid a fair price and you do not deserve this. That truck has been in Steroids barn for years so it had to be some one with keys to the barn. 1 Quote Link to comment
