jboulukos
Had the carburetor rebuilt by National Carb and replaced the PCV valve, getting everything back on and I can't find where the second in from the left goes. How is the car running? What prompted the PCV value change? Quote Link to comment
roadkill2525
The car is running fine, decided to change the PCV valve and upon removing the old one it was packed with crud. 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Had the carburetor rebuilt by National Carb and replaced the PCV valve, getting everything back on and I can't find where the second in from the left goes. Second from the left just goes to intake vacuum. Vacuum is used to work the Automatic Temperature Control valve in the snorkel to maintain a mix of warm and cold air (around 90 degrees) for the carburetor. A consistent 'warm' air temperature improves cold weather running and eliminated carb icing. The car is running fine, decided to change the PCV valve and upon removing the old one it was packed with crud. That crud is blow by vapors that have condensed. Does the engine get up to working temperature? About half way up the normal or warm range? Does the engine burn oil? Quote Link to comment
roadkill2525
New oil pump and oil pressure sending unit, had to cut a new gasket since the one that came with the pump was damaged but provided a good template. For all the good comes the bad with a broke hatch support bolt and glove box lid. Finished replacing the oil pump and the battery was dead, replaced with a Braille B106 that weighs in at 6.9lbs. Had to replace the terminals and fix some wiring. Quote Link to comment
roadkill2525
I've got a leak from a "heater hose" that does seem to be out of place. It runs along the the firewall behind the heater motor and ends with a cap (the point of the leak) but there's nothing shown in the Nissan service manual. I don't know if this was done by somebody else because the manual shows the cooling system stop at the engine side of the firewall and the heater control section has nothing on the hoses. From heater core to engine (driver side) From engine to heater core (passenger side) Hose runs along firewall and ends with a cap. Quote Link to comment

Cosmonaut
That is supposed to be a prebent hose (braided) that ran behind the heater core then out. That seem to be a weak spot, I believe though it was from people pulling on the heater housing without removing all of the hoses properly. Quote Link to comment

roadkill2525
Very nice I have those on my watch list just haven't been able to pull the trigger yet. I went through their website (http://www.datsun1200.asia/currency/USD), instead of using the eBay store and saved $90. Might as well get it now so you know you've got it, I came by these purely by chance. Quote Link to comment
roadkill2525
Looking for the body gasket for the fuel filler and lines. Haven't had any luck finding one so far. I've also have been looking at Techno Toy Tuning parts, I've seen that it uses 510 suspension parts but will the brake lines work as well? 1 Quote Link to comment

If you mean the stainless brake lines that replace your rubber lines, the fronts will. And I think one of the rears will match up to yours, you'll just have one left over. Quote Link to comment
roadkill2525
Starting to tear apart the front suspension and replacing stuff with Techno Toy Tuning parts. Removing a number of parts to clean and paint, hoping to get done before Datsloco. Quote Link to comment
