Alchemist
As of this morning, the Title is corrected to the car and the vehicle is titled/registered under my name. That's a milestone - congratulations Cap! I had to have my car smogged yesterday for registration renewal and my car now has 79K on it. The smog tech told me it passed with flying colors and noted how low the emissions were! Ernie Quote Link to comment
captaingamez
Mine were also very low, every category, NoX, CO, and HC, was lower than half the permitable emissions. at 190,000 miles, hahaha. Quote Link to comment
captaingamez
I got some parts in themail today............And soon it will have a center console.... Quote Link to comment
rjorgensen
Where did you find the center console? Or is yours one of the few that has a good one? Last time I saw a clean 910 in the junkyard, someone had wrecked the center console getting to some other part... Quote Link to comment
captaingamez
Eagle adam found/sent me one, but it is also damaged, repairable, but damaged, gonna fiberglass it and put it in soon. Quote Link to comment
captaingamez
Lots of broken... What I discovered is there are a few reasons that these consoles get so badly damaged. First, the front piece is attached to the back piece, and they have to come out together, So dont try to separate the two of them until its out of the car. Second, you have to take out the passenger seat to get it in and out because the seat is kind of wide. Third, the radio is pretty hard to get out if you dont remove the console. And lastly, old thin plastic. So lots of fiberglass work for reinforcement. Little bit of bondo for cracks. And here she is after the first coat of SEM paint to the center. captaingamez
Captain, nice job on the center console. Do you have the rubber boot/trim or whatever it is called for the parking brake slot? Unfortunately no, I dont have that, nor the plastic insert under the handle, nor the pad in the bottom of the box. But the console is sturdy and has a new shift boot......... I would like to figure a work around for this. Quote Link to comment
rjorgensen
I can help you with the insert. The rubber trim is just a matter of finding it in my storage. Quote Link to comment

captaingamez
This is how the bumper is stockThis is how it is now, after pulling it back almost 2 inches. Quote Link to comment
captaingamez
Heres the technical-ish stuff You gotta pull all this stuff off to do it easy. Cut back the bumper and redrill the holes Cut back and shap the honeycomb BS then you just kind of push your bumper into place. Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
This is badass. B) Have you looked to see if you can do this out back? Assuming that is a bit more complicated... 1 Quote Link to comment

captaingamez
Thanks man! Today I fixed my cruise control....Yes thats right, I have cruise control that works, in a 30 year old car, lolol. Winning..... Quote Link to comment
captaingamez
Ok the final piece of info for correctly converting the 910/Maxima from Auto to 5 speed. The clutch switch must be changed to a brake switch, the clutch switch is on when the pedal is not pushed, the brake is on when the pedal is pushed. The auto has an inhibitor relay which must be on for the car to start, but off for the cruise control to work. To make it give power to the starter, you must provide it with a closed circut from the inhibitor switch on the auto (or the clutch switch in our case) So instead of using the clutch switch, you use a brake switch in its place, they are the same size and thread. Brake on left clutch on right, $10.99 at Autozone. Quote Link to comment
captaingamez
These came in the mail today. Lowering springs for 280zx. I ordered KYB stock rear shocks. I am hoping I have stock struts in the front so I can throw some 40 weight in them and be good, Otherwise I will get KYBs there too. Quote Link to comment
