Draker
Damn. Not a whole lot of 620 KCs over here on the east coast. Oregon seems to have a cool collection of old Datsuns. They are all over the place. Quote Link to comment

Probably has rust not disclosed or discovered. Perfect one sold for slightly more recently in the area. I just barely missed on it. 1 Quote Link to comment

Angela
1970 Datsun 510 4dr $5,950 BIN for all you granny bar lovers! http://www.ebay.com/itm/1970-Datsun-510-/152626878693?hash=item23894558e5:g:1-4AAOSwKRJZa-ez&vxp=mtr Granny Bars? I prefer "Coffin Handles"!!!! I had been emailing the owner Andrew to ask questions about this thing. Here's what he gave me (included is a link to his Ratsun build thread a few years back ). I read through his posts & decided it was not the car for me but to each his/her own... "It was daily driven from Modesto to Travis Air force base on sunday nights, driven around the base during the week, and driven back to Modesto on Fridays for about a year straight. The car was "mothballed" as we would call it as it sat on the back burner and awaited a turbo fuel injected motor swap that never happened. About a month ago, I bought a carburetor rebuild kit, and rebuilt both Weber 44 carbs, and it started, and ran like a top... even in the heat. I only test drove it around town and to fill the emptied tank with Chevron premium to treat the old girl to a taste of what she was missing. I did notice a small coolant leak coming from the water pumps weep hole (the water pump is under warrantee) but I dont see that as a reason to call off a drive. It would just need monitoring until someone had the time to change the pump. The rust is contained to the drivers rear quarter at 90% with the remaining 10% of the rust showing up in the quarter panel on the passenger side. The floor pans are clean and free of rust. the glass is all on great shape. the front window was a rare source New Old Stock (no distortion) window, and I used the first piece of the weather stripping kit when I had it installed. The seal kit was purchased for another Datsun 510 that I purchased along the way in 2011. I robbed the parts I needed from that car, and sent it on its way as a shell. IIRC, the weather stripping kit was said to have come from a guy who has recently passed, but I dont remember the name. Mike Kay may be it. As I got the car in pretty much stock form, any modifications tot he car have come from my vision, which I am not offended by the idea that it may be "wonky" to others. 1 - I mounted a roof rack to the top of the car from a Buick I sourced in picknpull. I loved the design at the time, but I wouldn't have done it again the look is pretty cool, and it is weather sealed, but the bottom line is that there is in fact holes in the roof from the mounting hardware. 2 - I parted out a turbo Acura Integra and kept a few parts I found to be super cool to me. I used the twin loop muffler on the Datsun. I have found that this is a "love it or hate it" kinda thing. and I still dig it. 3 - I removed the front valance in lou of custom fabricating (rather successfully if I do say so myself), a front valance from a Nissan 720z. The whole process was well documented on the build thread that I have kept alive on ratsun.com (http://community.ratsun.net/topic/44267-lazarus-the-sedan-part-280zx-part-620-part-silverado-part-integra-all-lazzie). 4 - I took the door mounted mirrors, changed sides, and mounted them on opposing fenders. they serve little function with the exception of aesthetics.... but I did it because I didn't want to pay the outlandish price for Japanese imported fender mirrors. ALSO, I didn't need them because I installed a full size 5 panel wink mirror into the mount holes of each of the sun visor threaded holes. I used the original hardware, and kept the original sun visors safe so that I could reverse the decision, should I change my mind in the future. As I am also a fan of this car, and have made great pains to restore this vehicle to daily drive-able standards, I would also like to put it in your driveway. Lets make something work.
