WCHLVR
Been lurking in the shadows for a few weeks gaining knowledge and inspiration for my new toy. My name is Terry and I run a small custom fab shop (Old Skool VulcanWerks) in Central Oregon mainly focusing on MK1 VW's but open to just about anything Thought I would take a moment to introduce everyone to "Blubawls"- 77 True Blue Deluxe King Cab. I recieved the truck on trade for some work to a friends 53 Chevy. As I understand it she was a one owner rig. The nearly 100yr old man really put her through the ringer though. She has been poorly repainted a different blue. Here she is the day she arrived in all her awesomeness The front left must have gotten banged up at some point and replaced... with yet one more blue (that makes 3 now LOL) As expected It appears to have been a California truck as it was covered in broken emission control crap... removed. She runs much better now (after a serious valve adjustment... I am surprised it was even running) The interior was equally as awesome The vinyl mat was accually covering the Deluxe carpet soaked in coolant. The heater valve had comepletely crapped out and the old man thought this to be the best solution Here is what it looked like under the carpet. No holes. Win! The "old man awesomeness" continued in the bed as well The carpet looked to have been in here since it was new. The paint under it was minty Unfortunately the canopy leaked and the particalboard soaked up all the moiture and complete rotted out the left corner of the bed After a little bit of wash under the hood Grandpa canopy and bridge girder rear bumper- GONE! For the time being I slapped on some 15x8 Mods and some nearly wore out 235/60's just for fun. It makes the truck look agressive but it drives terrible. We have very rutted roads here. Also reshot the grill a little more OEM color (Krylon Fusion). Did the wheel centers the same. Plans-Bench Seat to replace the crappy bucketsDoor mirrors will be replaced with some fender mounts. Lay it out (static then air)Keep it a functional shop truck.More to come. Stay tuned! Quote Link to comment

WCHLVR
All in due time. At the moment trying to sort out what kind of shoes I want for her. 15x8.5 Western Turbines (Correction- After further research these appear to be Appliance Turbo Vecs) 15x8.5 Ansen Sprints Both are fairly local. Kinda leaning towards the the Turbines. I already have 5 Slots on my bodydropped Rabbit Pickup And my wifes Jeep (tow rig once my Rabbit Truck is done) Quote Link to comment

WCHLVR
damn! beat me to it! i was gonna bag and body a rabbitruck after the datsun(now done) and mazda(almost done) was done....sweet ass trucks man!! you sell the rear and front setups for the vee dubs?? Yep. You can peep my stuff here- oldskoolvw.com Ol Blubawls left me stranded twice yesterday. Found the issue- Bad electrical connections. Fresh battery cables (I think they were originals). New battery hold down. Eliminated most of the "old man's" wiring debauchery. Gave another go at washing the bay while I was in there. Getting closer to my standards. LOL I also took a few minutes with the impact gun, pulled the spring packs apart and removed one of the extra leafs out of the pack on each side. Didn't get a pic but it seemed to level the truck out a little better. As soon as I sort out its "shoes" I will toss in some blocks, crank down the torsions and snap some proper pics. WCHLVR
Got a couple minutes this evening to shave the Dumbo mirrors off BluBawls. Luckily they used rivt nuts so they came right off. Stole these 4" Peeps are from my Caddy (its not using them right now... LOL) You can see the (tan lines) from the old mirrors. Need to do an acid wash to strip the oxidation. Really cleaned up the profile. Completely forgot that I never posted any interior pics after my makeover. You can see where the antifreeze bleached the carpet. See that premium duct tape seat repair. High quality stuff right there! LMAO - Quote Link to comment
Eagle_Adam
those mirrors look good, got a link to buy some? Quote Link to comment
