Rebuilt my battery tray. It was secure, but a pain to get the battery in and out.

My new plasma cutter kicks ass, my shit is locked down tight now...and it's way easier to access.

Thanks for the nudge slo, I've been meaning to post about this..

I got my plasma cutter from these guys...

http://longevity-inc.com/

I picked up the LP-50D

Here's the pirate link, as that is where I first heard of them.

Business end, the trigger is movable to allow comforable cutting at angles.

Came with the regulator, filter and extra consumables.

Only needed to pick up a plug, had the air fittings.

Wired up.

Set to cut.

This the first project I've used it on, cuts like butter through the 1/8 and 1/4 plate that I've tried. I'm going to do a couple more small projects to get the feel of freehand. Then my 620 frame build will begin.

Can't beat it for the price or even a price point or two above. Customer service was excellent.

I highly recommend one. 🆒

Figured I'd add this from my PM's with slodat.

Did you get the Pilot Arc unit? What was the total price? Did you buy through Longevity direct or A2Z?

The Pilot Arc's just came out. I have the regular unit. It starts easily, but you have to press it to the workpiece. I might have gotten the Pilot Arc if it had been available at the time, don't think it's really a big deal either way. I got mine just after Christmas and finally tested it out on that small project last weekend.

I purchased it thru A2Z. I orded it thru PM's on pirate4x4, but talked over the phone for shipping and payment. The longevity website is A2Z's site for the machines so your could just order and pay that way.

Edit: just saw the final price question..I think it was around $545 shipped

Did some work on the CJ to get it ready for camping. I had a loose upper balljoint on the drivers side and didn't want it to break during playtime. 🙂

I picked up a disc brake dana 30 on CL

Tore down the new axle and it had a thicker long side inner shaft than my stockers.

j108.jpg.ceb982bdbcc0125e4aff5feca56ba3e2.jpg

Also got what looks like an almost brand new hub.

j109.jpg.89058706f488a7f0b78af8035803ee29.jpg

I had to buy a new master, brake lines, banjo bolts and assorted fittings.

j110.jpg.c67ee58e6fe77e05750e647ef1d41338.jpg

I also had to enlarge the hole for the master cylinder push rod. No pic...

The caps on my u-joints were pushing out and wouldn't fit back through the knuckle. So unconventional methods were applied.

Thanks for the labor Nuff

dam jedi, i didn't know you were a wheeler. i just found this thread. your jeep is pretty cool.

as far as the whole toyota vs jeep deal, who cares. if you wheel long and hard enough, all the shit starts breaking regardless of what brand. also, every wheeler out there has essentially the same rig or will eventually upgrade to the same thing. chevy engine with dana sixty's or a 14 bolt.

how is walker compared to reiter? i havent been up there yet :(

i should be done with the 5.0L swap in the toyota in the next month or so and i plan on going up there, maybe we can all get together(nuff/mopar/you/me/datson/ect?) and have a group trip, i have a trailer and tow rig so im gaim to break some shit if it so happens it happens...

i do tend to use the skinny pedal a bit much...not to mention with the 5.0L in there i KNOW some shits going to get broke...:fu:

Walker is more of a 'trail ride' with some stuff. It's quiet though, and kept up really well.

Reiter, well Reiter is like a kegger

They both are fun though.

Let me know when your up and running, I'm always down for a day in the woods. :D
