datzenmike Posted May 9, 2019 Report Share Posted May 9, 2019 Exactly. On a high precision high hp build this isn't a waste of time. The cylinders can be bored and honed under simulated assembled conditions with the top of the block stressed by the torque of the head bolts rather than pulled out of shape later when the head is tightened down. This is the area where the rings have to seal against maximum cylinder pressures. 2 Quote Link to comment
