The problem with having all the dickery relegated to the Insomniacs thread, is that things just get consumed by it. On one of the ATF forums I was on, they had a thread similar to general discussion, but also had a subforum called "The Scuttle-butt" which is where all the less politically correct/NSFW thread shenanigans went on. Before they had implemented it, there was a small problem with thread fodder.

 

It is really nice to have your drunk discussions on a topic, even when they're just drunk topics. The Insomniacs thread is simply everyone in one room screaming random shit at eachother.

 

I don't know how forum software works, but I do know that having that sort of "you must be this old to ride this ride" sub forum helps with the over-the-top goofiness.

No offense to you,, ,, but I just don't have time to read your lengthy reply . . .. . or your lengthy stories . .. . I'm shure they are funny

That's understandable, which is why I've started prefacing them with STWJ in the subject line, since not everyone wants to read them. Having one thread would work if there was a way for an OP to inject a new first or second post.

Maybe I'm a little bit late to the party,

and I have very little to contribute to the original thought of this thread...

But...this seems like the discussion went in a good direction.

 

I like Ratsun for lots of reasons.

Lots of knowledgeable members.

Good data base(when you can actually find what you're looking for).

Beautiful cars. Rat or not. There are some impressive builds, and creative members in here.

And it's lots of fun, and plenty of laughs.

 

Every since the "New To Me" thread, my view of what we do here has changed.

A majority of us who posted in there weren't very helpful. Myself included.

We started out helpful, then were swayed by attitude to revert to flaming and fuckery.

That was not the place for it. And it was very irresponsible of all of us to do so.

There were members who stayed on track, and were very interested in his build.

But those of us who took bashing, came right back at him tenfold.

I, for myself, apologize for what I did/said in that thread to those for whom I fucked that up for.

I will not speak for others, but I think the idea of Ratsun got bashed on in that thread.

It started well, then PO and members got shitty with each other; creating one huge cluster-fuck.

 

Now-There are some very good valid points in this thread about where we can take and have our shenanigans.

Indy and Hardwyre both made excellent, and valid arguments on both sides of, for the lack of a better term, issue.

There is a time, and place for everything...but where is that place, really?

The Insomniacs thread is good for some laughs.

And so are some of the threads we've created...just for the lulz.

 

I've tried to follow the laughs on the insomniacs thread...

It seems like it's random jokes back and forth; inside jokes you'll never get.

Hardwyre's suggestion for a subforum to contain NSFW/fuckery/off the wall threads away from General discussion ideas seems fitting.

Although we have the Insomniacs thread for garage-talk, it just doesn't fit alot of peoples style.

My garage is much different than the next persons.

 

I don't want to see the laughs disappear.

Or get lost under/in pages of random spewings of smiley-faces and "ollz's"

I'm part of some forums that are no non-sense forums, and I turn to the general section for the lulz. It's a good place to just talk about whatever. I would agree that there could be a sub-forum or something, but I don't mine the BS. There are plenty of other parts of the forum for serious talk.. and this is coming from a newer member.
