Duals are a performance upgrade, for sure.

If a dual manifold had arrived, I would have went that route.

But a single 45, with some jetting adjustments should get it running smooth.

After it gets 1500 miles on it.

I will think about switching.

Thank you.

I have seen that linkage and I think it is overly complex. Crash runs that linkage on his 521.

I think it was developed for rallye racing where they needed redundancy in the return springs and other mods to make sure the throttles didn't get stuck open.

A simpler linkage can be bought (Pierce) or built, using bits and pieces from stock carbs and/or other Webers or even Mikunis.

I'm using something a little different....

the top plate is part of it..

I'm missing the spring on my pedal so I wanted a better spring on the carburetor.....

Crashtd420:
That looks very robust!
The stock redline trottle linkage is what I am used, too.
I have never had an issue with it.
Kind of want something different.
Still need to run a manual choke!
Maybe this is the better way?
It's half the price of the red line one!

I will order it in a day or two.
Out, hustling!
Another pressure washing job to finish!
Then, I will order!

It's definately a beefy unit... it was a little pricey but at the time I had some extra cash and splurged...

I have never used the choke for my setup..

I does need a little throttle for a minute to warm up but that's all....

Usually it's just a couple presses on the pedal so the accelerator pump squirts some fuel and then just a little pedal while cranking and It will start ....

I actually have an idle up solenoid because I have ac... I can activate it with a switch.... so on cold mornings I use it to help the truck warm up....

No choke just a fast idle... maybe 1000 rpm.... it drops to 800 when my ac compressor activates......

It seems.
I don't have the right adapter to put it in now.

Today, I am cleaning up the coil and distributor.
Still has the old paint on them.
I will make sure things working.
Will also try and get the back-plate, flywheel and clutch mounted to the new engine.

Wow, My linkage came today. said it would be here in 7 days.. They fed-exed!
Cool!
Mine looks similar to your Crashtd420.
Linkage looks the same not the mounting plate.

Question:
Are you having a need for a heat shield? Edited by Doctoraudio

Not yet, but i did wrap my headers.... it's on my list of things I should do for added insurance.....

I haven't actually had an issues due to heat and I drive my truck on really hot days with my ac running and it's been fine..... definitely hot under the hood but the carburetor seemed fine.....
