cr83
my l18 had the same crack between 2-3, it is just a crack between coolant ports so i wasn't concerned, a small amount of thread sealer on that particular bolt may help Quote Link to comment
mhub91
my buddy Danny and I had some beers last night and decided to set timing and adjust carbs on his wagon, 620, and my 620. All L20s... His two L's were just a little off, however when we threw the timing light on mine ....... there wasn't a damned mark to be seen! I was wondering why I had to heel-toe at every damn stop. Not to mention ... what choke? lol. Set mine to 12 deg. btdc, as spec describes. Set the old Hitachi and WOW! what a difference!! Not claiming there's power, but over-all drivability and cold start is an absolute miracle! I actually enjoy driving this thing now. Found that the throttle cable had no slack in it at all, and made it where I couldn't set idle any lower to truly adjust the carb. So, before I realized that I thought idle was already approximately 650 or so all the way backed out ... but it still sounded high. Therefore I was trying to lower idle by either leaning it out or making it rich... Couldn't find it's happy place. My buddy actually saw that the cable was way too tight. Relieved the tension, and finally idle dropped. This thing is so happy now. So am I! 1 Quote Link to comment
