skunk Posted May 18, 2011 Author Report Share Posted May 18, 2011 pulled the timing cover off today, got it and the water pump all clean. Started getting the timing all set in. Have to finish that up tomorrow morning. Have all new gaskets for timing cover/water pump, intake/exhaust, head gasket and a bunch of other stuff. Changing the oil. the timing chain looks new. and it has the gold links :D. No more RTV!!!! Quote Link to comment
skunk Posted May 25, 2011 Author Report Share Posted May 25, 2011 at this point the engine has all new gaskets. just not the oil pan. exhaust is on, carbs are on. car even starts. but my thermostat housing is fucked, found two extras. both had bolts broke in them. fucked up both of them trying to get them to work. on the hunt for a thermostat housing. Im going to try and get a ride out to work on the car tomorrow and see if i cant get the timing set and work on tuning the SUs. might save the Throttle Cable swap till im at canby, lol.
