I was ok with it being a auto with the old carb set up. but with these SUs, i just dont see how i could keep it like this. drives great when i get up to speed but the low end of 1st sucks. For the time being, do you have the vacuum line fitted to the SU manifold? Without it hooked up, the transmission doesn't understand when to shift because of the lack of vacuum. Quote Link to comment

skunk Posted June 10, 2011 Author Report Share Posted June 10, 2011 was driving out to help a co-worker with some shit, on the way there the car was running a bit hot. so i turned around and headed home to check some stuff out. before i could get home the car started sputtering funny, felt like the carbs lost a bit of power then in died and dieseled. tryed to start the car , starter cranks but not much eles. engine is kinda trying but not really. white smoke comes out the exhaust when i try and start the car.
