Bye bye 720. She was rusted and falling apart. Head gasket blowing was the final straw.

 

 

Ready to move. I filled that uhaul with my shop stuff..

Got a welding cart for free! My old one was a POS.

 

 

Got the seat mounts tacked in place and ready to weld. Driver side atleast..

ECU and CanAm box wouldn't fit under the seat like I planned. Oh well. I didn't want wires running along the floor anyways.

I made a mount plate and mounted both CanAm boxes in the glove box. One is for ECU/Fuel Pump. The other is for Headlights/Cooling Fan. Tomorrow I'm gonna start the dreaded process of putting all this together..

I put the ECU on the kick panel.

As for the relays and such why not mount them under the glove box and build a cover plate so you can keep some glove box space.

Because I don't need a glove box and this way I can access them easily.

Good, I have an aluminum panel hiding my mess of wiring is the reason I mentioned a cover.

Yeah I was lucky to be able to wire the ECU on my bench. Worked out well.

 

Ok. My back has had enough. Tapping out for the night. ECU is wired to the Motor now. Lots to do still.

First crank (since complete rewire). I was feeling a little unsure. I must've done something right. This is a "no throttle" first try. My car has zero idle controls but the throttle plate. Now to finish welding the exhaust in the am. Too hot tonight. Yes!!!

I trimmed a ton of fuel out and the motor smoothed out. Something was still off though. I found the MAP Sensor had 12v instead of 5v.... Seems i tapped the wrong power source. Killed the MAP Sensor. I ordered a replacement..

 

I also finished the exhaust back to the shifter. Wideband is also setup and working. The factory tach even works!

 

Lot's of little things to do. Atleast I know the motor is healthy.

Huh I didn't even know MAP sensors took 5v.  Learn something everyday.

Yeah it's best to tap the 5v source from the TPS.
