Fast720
Update Still alive , got a new toy !!!! 2005 350Z 35th anniversary 6 spd. it's super sweet !!!!! It has helped me get motivated to work on the truck. Good news I have to finish Blue Thunder before I can play with the Zed So I have been back on the 720 ..... Machining the hubs so the new Z32 discs line up in the middle of the Calipers New studs Had to make the centers of the discs bigger & drill holes so the hub could go on the outside and the disc gets bolted on from behind Next is making custom outer tie rods to compensate for the bump steer And again thanks for the nice comments , really going to push to get this done ASAP !!!!! 4 Quote Link to comment

Fast720
Update Well I was going to make an Aluminum tank and run it between the frame rails at the back etc , but its just going to far with this build. Just need to button it up and get it done. So managed to get a fuel tank in , it's out of a regular cab short box 93 D21 I had hanging around . it has a pump in it so that will help ( I will refurbish it of course ) But the goal was to get it in there. Here it is next to the stock one I took out , quite a bit smaller. Making the front mount In order to get it away from the rear suspension and new frame I had to notch the back of the cab. this will work out great the tank will be flush with the bottom of the frame rail, tucked up there nicely . Now I will box that back in , the tank will get a thick rubber pad to isolate it from the brackets. 4 Quote Link to comment

Charlie69
YOU DO BEAUTIFUL WORK! A King Cab Tank has a Step in the front of the tank allowing it to go under the cab. Not sure if it would be to long for a standard cab thought. I will post pictures of the 86 D21 2WD King Cab Tank this weekend. 1 Quote Link to comment

Fast720
Update Spare tire system , just have to fab up the cradle parts to guide and hold it in place , works really well !!!!! Trimmed the cross braces to get it tucked up in there out of the way , probably will never use it but I intend to do some long road trips , and don't want to be without a spare. 4 Quote Link to comment
Fast720
Update Worked on the Spare again today , I hurt my back a Xmass time and it's not cooperating , so everything is crawling along , including me ..... Here is a little trick I do quite often , I tack weld two or three plates together if I am making two or three copies , this saves a lot of time , you only do the layout once , drill all the holes at the same time , trimming or grinding the pieces , they all turn out the same . Bending the parts to fit the tire , this will help hold it in place I bent a piece of tube to go in the front to help guide it into place on the way up. I will finish welding these out when the box comes off. 5 Quote Link to comment

So I decided to prep the summer hood , I made a special pair of plyers for this job. Was trying to get an edge on the cut out that would help stiffen it up. Measure twice Plyers in action Still some dolly work to do and a skiff of filler 13 Quote Link to comment
