I am building a whole new body , I have been at this for 2 years solid , I just started posting from the beginning I got inspired by Matt who built the Vaydor

  10. Because I use my shop to do other stuff , it 's a pain in the ass to move the truck and jack it up and jack it back down to move it aside , so I came up with this idea , I made three sizes of blocks , so I can use different combinations to suit a height that I need . I have taken a month off to button up this truck , So Stay Tuned In !!!!
  11. Hi Will be working on Blue Thunder for a while , lots of stuff getting in the way as usual . My White D21 is all back together runs awesome , picked up a new to us daily driver for my wife , her 95 MX5 started smoking really bad on start up , I suspect it's the stem seals . Her new ride !!!!! 2012 MX5 with a power roof and all the toys , it came from Kentucky , it was in a lite crash , some assembly required !!!! .
  12. Hey Keeper You never stop amazing me , sweet work as always !!!!! I would like to see it as a panel with two doors on the back , you know like all the little delivery wagons in Europe , could be cool . But forget I said that , stick to your plan it's totally working !!!! Hope to see it in person one day . Cheers Fast720
  13. My little white D21's engine decided to blow the head gasket , so I pulled the head to see what was going on , yup the gasket was bad along with the cam chain sliders etc. Wow I couldn't believe the price of the parts !!! head gskt set and bolts over $300 and the cam chain set complete was over $500 !!! So I used my spare engine , took the best external parts from both and put it in , runs strong . So that used up my time for Blue Thunder this week ...........
  14. Hi everyone Got a little bit of work done , still not feeling great DAM FLU . Making some tire clearance , don't want any rubbing issues later , much easier to fix now !!! Had to make a new pocket for the brake booster , I will finish these inner fenders when the cab comes of , it will be a lot faster & easier to get at both sides . Also had to take a huge slice out of my air box And thanks again for fallowing along and the kind words , it does help with motivation .
  15. Hey Atomic As long as they don't leak !!! , yes TIG welding them would result in much more control , but your doing it with what you have. If you want them to look really nice you can spend some time cleaning them up . Use a flat and 1/2 round file ,use the mini grinder to take off the mass of excess , but be careful not to go too deep. The grinder will go past the surface of the parent metal giving you all the low areas which look bad , file them up and spot tack some weld in the low areas to make them look like one piece. Good luck
  16. Hi Thanks for the info , I have QA1's also they are 550 lbs FR and 250 lbs Rear , i hope the fronts are enough , it still has a lot of stuff to go on the truck yet . I am also running the Nissan 4 piston calipers on the front and 300ZX Z32 2 piston on the rear , with the stock 1984 720 master bore size 15/16 with booster . Your 3 link rear setup is very clean , and your front lower control arms are sweet , are they aftermarket ? Thanks for the reply Cheers Fast720
  17. Sweet ride , I have a couple of questions , how many LBS are your springs Front and Rear ? . Are you running the stock master cylinder for those calipers ? Thanks Fast720
  18. Update Hi I have been sick with the Flu ..........it's been nasty to say the least . So I got the passenger side inner fender tacked up.
  19. Hi The other side , I had to cut a big slice out of the bottom of the air box , For the power steering pump , it has to run on the blower belt , So I had to convert the pulley from a V belt . I machined the V part off the old pulley and welded on the new one .
  20. Hi Been working on inner front fenders , needed a little more clearance at full lock , you know incase it ever gets sideways lol lol ... I will have to relocate the battery in the back of the truck somewhere , probably going to use a Miata Battery because they are small , plus I happen to have one . Cut the inners out to make some room I added power steering from a D21 so I decided to drop the fluid res into the fender .
  21. Hi I agree to keep it all Nissan but as far as I am concerned , any modern Japanese engine and trans is Ok in my Book . I like what Bob Did with the MX5 Miata in the 411 . Depending on where you are located , where I live there are tons on older MX5's. I have a 1995 and a 2012 they are awesome cars , tough as nails . Good luck Fast720
  22. Hi Guys & Galls I have been working on Blue thunder a bit , I got an offer from Photobucket for $ 100.00 bucks for the year to host my stuff , so instead of switching and learning a new site and all that I signed up . But they haven't switched me back on yet ,If I don't get a response from them tomorrow , I will burn them to the ground ..........................just saying. So stay tuned , I miss this site and all the support to keep me inspired .
  23. Hi fellow Ratsun dudes ................I am back working on Blue Thunder , a big push to finish is on !!!!!!!! I might need some help from Charlie to fix my past pics and what is everyone doing to host new pics ?
  24. Hi guys Thanks for all the support , I have zero me time ,I was surprised to see that I was still on the first page of builds here , haven't had the time or energy to get my Ratsun fix !!!! .( was hoping to see some more of Datstang's progress looking forward to seeing it without all the tape and paper ) Going to take tomorrow off , maybe go to the British Car show with a couple of buddies , and weather permitting maybe do a test of the mold with just fiberglass , that way I can continue with the exhaust and the test piece take all the scratching etc while finishing the body work around th
  25. Welcome Nice truck , you can make an adapter , or get an exhaust shop to make you one any size you need .a short piece of tube about three inches long , this also helps if you need to turn one end of the hose to fit better .
