datzenmike
[/size] The finished product turned out cool. Not too noticeable. After the pic it dried more and is closer to the truck color. The main difference is that the old paint is a semi gloss and the new paint is a full gloss. I wish I had read this yesterday! I like the rising sun idea, however the colors clash with most other color schemes. No offense, but it really only looks good on white, red and maybe black trucks. All others, it kind of stands out... and that's ok, it would be a boring world if it didn't, but it's just a bit much for me. (maybe I'm boring) If and when I paint my truck, THIS, is the effect I want! Maybe not these colors, but definitely this effect. Quote Link to comment
bluemeanie
Well with the help from Mike last night I got the low pro's off and a set of stockers with beauty rings and 2 caps......I'm on the prowl for some new caps. I'll have to get some pics, but now it has to go lower :) Anyway thanks for the wheels and tires Mike!:D Quote Link to comment

bluemeanie
Well I know its been a while since I've done much to my little 620, but i've been gathering parts. Today I decided to take on "the dent" Just a reminder of what I was starting with. First thing was to pull the bed so I could get to the cab. That went fairly easy, but made a mess of the garage This panel is what i'm hoping to squeeze in there if everything works right This next pic is when I first got the panel off. Sheet metal is still all messed up. This is after I worked the rear wall back into shape to accept the new panel. After that my brother helped me to get the new bed on without damaging it. This way I could line all the body lines up when installing the new panel. And these are the welded panel in place. Things worked out well and i'm off to the store this morning to buy some body filler and a tube of seam sealer. Wish me luck! Quote Link to comment

Pacific coast Datsun
Thats a clean repair job. Looks like the replacement panel was an aftermarket panel :D Quote Link to comment
Figbuck
You go boy! That's the hot set up! I guess our trucks are going to be related through that '75 donor truck that never should have been junked. :D Quote Link to comment

bluemeanie
No kidding. I'd like to get some of the other dents taken care of and giver her a paint job. Maybe its time for the hanging plastic in the garage and space heater paint booth! Who knows she might look alright all one color. Quote Link to comment
bluemeanie
Thats a clean repair job. Looks like the replacement panel was an aftermarket panel :D The replacement panel I have Ledevil and Lynch420 to thank for it. They snagged it with a cordless sawzall when it was Ledevil's truck. Came from the ol black 620 from Portland Auto Wrecking. Quote Link to comment
