ggzilla
I hear it a small low-weight wiper motor. Increase your zero-to-sixty? Quote Link to comment
ichorid
I hear it a small low-weight wiper motor. Increase your zero-to-sixty? ha how about 3 speeds and an actual drive to get water off your windows instead. :P personally my 510 avoids rain at all costs. if its wet, she is inside. I was thinking about doing the conversion so I picked up the DQ issue with it inside. Ill check the number when I finally organize the stack of reading materials on my desk so you can get that exact issue. Quote Link to comment
philcas1987
I've had the mazda motor in my last two 510's. It is one of the best mods I've done to my car.very consistent at high speeds. Quote Link to comment

Pedro
If you don't mind drilling some new holes where the wiper motor actually mounts, you can use an S13 wiper motor. Seen them installed on a few 510's in Australia. No further details though sorry. EDIT - oh, and they managed to use the steering column switches from the same car. Quote Link to comment
jesusno2
I did a write up on how to put a 620 wiper motor in a 510 very easy swap and my wipers function just find. Quote Link to comment
HRH
Factory stalk switches are for wusses. Real 510 owners wire in multiple relayed toggle switches! Quote Link to comment
Pedro
This is the s13 one, sorry I don't have any other details other than seeing it's fitted and the guy said it works. Quote Link to comment
Icehouse
The 510 wiper circuit is very strange IMO. When the key is on it gets constant power even with the switch off. When the pipers are applied the switch connects the ground side of the motor. We used an even new wiper motor on Dillon's car but I couldn't figure out how to wire it like the factory. Well late at night in the rain, I'm sure if I spent more time I could figure it out. I don't think the later Mazda motors are designed for a ground circuit. When I helped Rich on his BB I couldn't believe how fast the factory NOS wiper motor was, at least as fast as the Mazda motor. I kinda wonder if the original one is cleaned or the guts are swapped with a motor that has had less wear what would happen. I also started working on a delay using S13 parts but it requires 2 different modules and I never got around to it..... Quote Link to comment
DRIVEN
Ironically, I had planned to hit the yards for this exact project. Went out yesterday and could not find any 626s in that range. There were several B2000/B2200/B2600 pickups. The motors look very similar. Anyone know if it's a viable option? Quote Link to comment
BoostinBen
So I Just picked up a rebuilt mazda 626 wiper motor .. do you still have to use the 510 wiper relay / controller ? I dont have one at the moment just the stock wiper motor... Anyone know where I can get one? or is there an alternative? Quote Link to comment
ggzilla
There is no relay for wipers on a Datsun. Quote Link to comment
510-Trevor
This is my favorite wiper motor conversion (I suppose you could use the mazda motor with this mod): "The Down Under Wiper Motor" http://www.the510realm.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=6772 Hereis a pic of an engine compartment with this mod: Quote Link to comment
