there is no trans tunnel.... it looks like the driveshaft sits above the frame. Dry sump A15? A single straight pipe per exhaust port. DOOIIIITTT

The problem with that is, with how tall indy is he would already be sitting in the back seat... so not much room for the engine depending on what he puts back there. something with a FWD transmission transversely mounted maybe? Maybe a KA FWD trans on an L16 ???? I can just imagine a 4-2 header with straight victory pipes coming out the back...

The problem is on F AWD drive train the engine hangs wayy to far over the nose, or the assembly is too tall. I won't fit right in the 510 engine bay. See why the BRZ isnt/cant be an AWD. The hood is too low! If going the VW route, I vote for mounting an L16 to the transaxle if he does not put a golfcart motor there.

I was thinking this... But a VW engine... Someting about having a L16 has better appeal. Also the bolt pattern would be all wrong.

truck frame and welded solid axle diff. That way you can do mad skiids.

Roadster chassis. double wishbone front suspension, solid axle rear .. could mount 510 rear sub frame for more profit?

Have you considered getting a miata shell or something and using the tub to rebuild everything instead of making everything from scratch ?

Welp, over a year after I wanted to initially do this swap I've finally email'd Bogg Bros about making me a manifold. They just say it'll be built sometime late next week. Anybody have these running N/A on a L series motor have any impressions? I've been skimming over this thread again and gathering all the information I can. EDIT, Finished reading all of the pages again... so much information.

I went through 2 before I got a good one.

Set motor to TDC. Make sure rotor is pointing at the #1 plug wire... I've had trouble with a ZX starter before... It would click but not crank, but sometimes it would crank at some ignition switch positions. You live in SF, right? I'm kinda tempted to go look at it. Just cause I want to hear the mikunis.

ZX is a sweet first car, Driving around even the NA it was quite fun after some basic maintenance and tune-up it'll run great. So smooth up on the freeway in 5th, and the late models have the best gearing! If your suspension is all loose, I'd suggest getting some basic upgrades there and inspecting all steering components.. my 182k mile one was scary how loose it was, all my steering components where rusted and had barely any grease in them before I worked through the suspension. Broken hatch struts suck! New pair of hatch struts on amazon $35.
