  1. Looks like a nice Z! Its weird to hear how scarce they are in Europe. Have you taken it on the Nordschleife?
  2. Theres suppose to be a metal plate with a rubber insert and peg thingy that centers the axles on the bolt ... One of mine is broken but I have the other I'll try to get a pic tomorrow. Basicly those 1" holes on the spring perches are suppose to center the axles .... at least that's the only way I see to center them.
  3. Soooo much want of those velocity stacks !!! Do show how you mount them, I'd love to buy a set for mine.
  4. Mine idles at 12.2 AFR ... thats correct for a cammed carb motor from what I've read. Blue smoke = oil. What does the afr show when it backfires out the carb? Usually a lean condition.
  5. I was looking at this picture confused trying to figure out where it was taken, then realized you took this picture as I was leaving down a few blocks away from the show. Damn you're sneaky, INDY! Love the pics.
  6. Looks up meme on google, finds 'Not sure if stupid, or just tristan'. Ratsun is winning the internet.

  7. @dangero, edit, nvm 1.75's sound perfect for that build. Why are MJN needles ??? I cant find any info on them ?
  8. Fixed my windsheild wipers, the bolts on the motor were loose due to the rubber bushes falling apart. That great moment when something was an easy fix.

oh dang mine does that too, where'd you get new rubber? hasn't bothered me but I might fix it if it's easy

The outside part of the rubber broke, so I left the intact part of rubber under the motor and just put washers on the top to hold it down.

  9. Are you going to run EDIS/megajolt ?
  10. @dangero, I don't know what your issue is- But I can say the stock datsun fuel pump -CAN- overflow the R1 carbs, The stock R1 electric fuel pump turns off when there is back pressure(when the float bowls are full) so perhaps it could be getting too much? Try putting at 3 turns mixture for an L18. My 2 liter started with 3.5 turns. Is it trying to fire at all ??? Needles have holes in them ?!?! Perhaps some sort of lean needles for a bike ? I would try replacing with stock R1 needles.
  11. L28ET just started.

  12. Hey your build is looking awesome! I got a question, you said your running a Z20 block at 86mm, with NISMO head gasket ?? I can't find any info about a nismo head gasket smaller than 88.5mm ...am I missing something?
  13. You're not the only one, I was feeling cherry when I got home.. Oh and the worst part was I had sunblock in my glove box.
  14. Oh god, it is axle hop...

  15. I took redwood road home, and ran into some poeple from the show. Ahah that was awesome.
  16. Yes, then I can talk to him about ruby the whole time !!!
  17. 13.7 is a bit lean for WOT. At cruise I would want around 14.0:1 from what I've been reading about carburetor AFR tuning !
  18. Why not zoidberg? No seriously, why not both ?? limitless does not open early?
  19. Mine is off by about 1/2" ... But I've never measured it properly. When I went to get my car aligned the rear is barely off, so I decided not to worry about it.
  20. Thats funny, mine is off center too. I thought it was due to the way I had re-installed the U-bolts and centered on the leafs ...
  21. The carbs are balanced ... I had my mechanic check my work too. From everything I'm reading of bike carb tuning, everything scales from the main jet. I'm going to return everything to baseline, and go up on the mains and see if I can get the AFR better at the top (4500-6500 ).
  22. So I got my innovate LC-1 hooked up... its running about 12.0 AFR at idle ... WOT up to 2200rpm 9.8 - 10.5(Losing power, cant WOT uphill have to half throttle to get anywhere...), 2500rpm 11.5, 3000rpm 12, 4000rpm 12.5, 5000rpm 13, 6000rpm around 13.5, Saw 13.7 as I was pulling past 6100 WOT. this is with a 17.5 pilot and 180 mains, the needles are set one step lean from mid point. So it seems the larger pilot removed the popping out carb at lower RPM, but now its causing it to be really rich ?? Cruising, below 2500rpm is around 12:1 when I'm barely on throttle/holding speed, above 2500-4000 its around 13-14 AFR ... Strange thing, when I'm cruising in 5th around 3000rpm (72mph) it runs about 13.5-14, it will pop out of the carb with slight throttle adjustments. Or if I get on the throttle about 10% open, off throttle, 10% throttle it will go to 15 AFR and pop out the carb. It pops out the tailpipe off throttle around 3300-2700rpm, but its only about 14.5-15 AFR. Its drivable and makes good power, but the popping in 5th under light throttle/light load makes it undrivable for highway. I was going over a bridge sunday with some heavy wind resistance, and it was making good torque but kept popping out the carb. Going to go back through the thread for tuning info, just wondering if anyone has some tips for me !!
