  1. Didn't read any of the thread. 32/36 on 2.2 liter? running lean. 140 jets are about for a stock or cammed 2 liter!! Have you tuned the idle circuit yet? DGV tuning starts with the idle jets, main jets, then air jets. Follow this or you will never get it tuned right. try main jets at 160/150 or so. Look up DGV tuning, main should be bigger than secondary. Rich is better than blowing something up running lean.
  2. You've got a pair of eyes in the bay area. That's awful, that Z was really nice! :(
  3. I wanted to go to canby. Both my datsuns aren't roadworthy. T.T

  4. Still running a 32/36 ?? My L20b with .490 cam had the same cold lope with one. Only ran smooth when I put side drafts on it! Make sure that jetting isnt too lean, don't wanna hurt that new motor! Man Z20 block with 6" rods ?? Love it! Agreed with mike, lots of engine braking for ring load and varying RPM, I ran mine hard and the rings sealed like they should.
  5. Elec conversion or just use direct connect fan ?? I use clutch fan cause my car sees over 4000rpm every time I drive it.
  6. Hainz- Amazon carries the Paraut pump still... $97 http://www.amazon.com/Paraut-W0133-1616465-ATS-Water-Pump/dp/B0047Q5DU0/ref=au_pf_ss_3?ie=UTF8&Make=Nissan%7C67&Model=510%7C878&Year=1972%7C1972&carId=001&n=15684181&s=automotive
  7. @Hainz, This looks like it ?? Expensive. PARAUT is a sub brand of ATSUGI, you can still get them around too. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Nissan-Engine-Water-Pump-Atsugi-112-38004-035-/180967884069?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item2a2286c525
  8. That's what I wanted, thanks Mike !! FYI nissan OE is Atsugi... So I can usually get the part numbers from the nissan one.
  9. @datzenmike, the L20b one on the left is what I was running before, but its one with a stamped(pathetic) impeller. The problem is a lot of the incorrect ones list as compatible to Z and L cars even if they're not !! Is the paraut(atsugi) part no. I listed correct? I think it is but I don't want to buy the wrong thing again. @Eagle_Adam, No, the fan clutch and fan I have now fit just fine ... this setup works fine I just want the better cast impeller pump !!
  10. There would be no clearance to my radiator. Last time i looked this style sticks out a bit further ...
  11. FML! Thats the incorrect one! At least for my setup... This is for the larger fan, the one I have doesn't fit on this clutch. If anyone wants it before I return it I'll give it to them for $40 !
  12. I'm looking for the OEM nissan (branded as Atsugi, or paraut?) pump with fan clutch part number, I think I've found it but the last one I got was for the larger size/later model fan and I don't want to order the wrong thing again. Part number I've come to is Paraut W0133-1616465 ... Is that the correct one ? I can't find an exact picture of any of them, I need to make sure I get the right size fan clutch. I really have no idea what the fan year/model it was off of. I got it with my 'rebuilt' L20b and of course I was an idiot and replaced the old atsugi cast one with a kragan stamped impeller one with the impression 'new is better'. I have the head off and everything apart I wanted to fix my mistake and get a proper cast/curved impeller OE pump w/ the fan clutch. Thanks...
  13. Read the plugs after a hard run ... if they're getting fouled or otherwise incorrectly cleaned/colored play with the heat ranges to find the best for your motor... As I said, I ran a hotter plug in my hopped up L20b due to fouling plugs, it ran a bit better after.
  14. NGK BPR6ES. If there's nothing wrong with the plugs, don't bother using anything else. Though BPR5EY's seem to run better in my hopped up L20b. Can mess with heat ranges if you have issues with the plugs.
  15. Ah man that's what I thought. I think I'm going to end up with a set of enkei compe 16x8's for mine. I'd rather 16" tire options.
  16. DTP- The brakes were gone when I stopped to take a pic, like if I had kept using them they would have stopped working. And turned red. Like brembos, yo. I then proceeded to drive using engine braking, to cool everything. These damn 15's don't have enough airflow for those brakes. Tempted to get Z32 rims, but these are new michelin tires... I was about to break out the marshmellows and make some smores, but den I realised I dont have any. +1'd? Easy. Spammers are bitches, and bitches cant get enough of me. Protip- F* this road. Overheated my brakes on this road, blew the head gasket of my 510 on this road, and now I was following some slow dick prius too close and he decided to brake check me and wrecked my cressida on this road. F* this road. I WILL CONQUER IT. F* my cressida I wish I could put Z32 brakes on it. Having 3 cars sucks.
  17. Looks nice ! I kind of like that big tire muscle look. I'm sure those aren't genuine volk- am I missing something or where did you find 'cheap' wheels with negative offset?
  18. Good point, I'd love a new set of rotors and grippier pad compound ... But then again its a daily.
  19. Your stuff still says the 15th on facebook.
  20. I didn't even realize you updated this thread! ha. Sucks man that L24 seems to be a picky bastard. JZ are sick but maybe wanna NA 3.0 for more linear powerband while drifting?
  21. Courtesy parts has NISMO L 88.5mm gasket listed by part number on their store online- http://www.courtesyparts.com/head-gasket-p-622284.html
  22. AFAIK the L series dizzy only fits on KA with the truck front cover or something like that. I know a guy who's done it but don't know the details. He said it was a D21 motor you could run the L stuff on.
  23. Felpro headsaver is 0.022 ... Usually too thin depending on application. Everywhere I've read says pure copper head gasket requires an o-ring. you can get a copper gasket with compression crush rings like an OE gasket so you don't have to oring the block, and they can be made to a ton of different thickness. Companies like SCE gaskets, gasketworks, ... Was recommended by a mechanic friend to run copper due to the way I run my engine hard. I ordered a 0.043 ICS titan from SCE gaskets and waiting on it being made. No idea how long it takes but I can report back when I have it. its probably about $140 but that's due to it being a custom ICS titan, and custom bore(ordered 89mm). Might be cheaper for future orders since they've made one before.
