    How to Copper plate parts!

I worked as a nickel plater for three years. We used a caustic soda/water etch mixture. Aluminum got 30 seconds, then into a rinse tank. No pressure washing needed. Then into the tri acid (sulfuric, nitric, sodium bicarbonate) for a minute, another rinse, nitric for a minute, rinse, zincate to help adhesion, rinse, back to nitric, rinse, back to zincate, rinse, and then generally a strike tank. Entire prep took me less than 20 minutes from first etch to going into the nickel tank, and 10 of that was sitting in the strike. If you have pitting you over plated it, or left it in the etch for a few minutes. If you're prep isn't done right though, it will flake off due to poor adhesion. I've only once seen a piece not plate at all in spots, turned out it was rubbing the side of the tank. It'll still plate without proper prep, but you'll be disappointed with the results and it will most likely flake off

    How to Copper plate parts!

Prep work is easy and fast if you have the right chemicals.need a caustic etch, nitric/sulfuric/sodium bicarbonate mixture, and a nitric desmutt, and prep takes all of 5 minutes.

Datsun 510 Gas caps, What fits?

68 and 69 wagon caps are wagon only, 68-69 only caps. And as far as I know absolutely nothing else fits them, or has been made aftermarket for them. If anyone knows differently, let me know. Gas station lost mine before I knew how hard they were to find...

    710 ball joints

What you don't realize doctor510, is that I have a bad habit of doing something just like that thinking "it's not that complicated" and royally fucking something up. It's my first time ever doing it, I don't have much cash squirelled away for it, so I'd rather not just dive in and hope I don't break shit. Especially if it's something that contradicts itself like this did.

    710 ball joints

Yep. Got it figured out, all apart, and new joint in. Will be putting it and tie rod ends back in tomorrow and starting the other side

    710 ball joints

Lol, with some of the stuff on this car I wouldn't be overly surprised. Think I figured out what I was missing though. Time to go pull bolts and see if the information I was given is correct.

    710 ball joints

I'm kinda thinking they are, just trying to verify. And trying to not remove half the suspension to get it out lol. Not a problem if I have to, but I'd rather not if I don't

    710 ball joints

Trying to get the ball joints out, what I'm seeing does not equate to what I'm reading. Keep seeing that I need to loosen the pinch bolt, but there is none that I see. Where the castle nut should be seems to be inside the strut, but I know that can't be right. Any insight into what I may be missing? 77 710 goon

Always good to keep an eye out. I've managed to score a few things I wanted for good deals by checking listings daily lol

    B210 Suspension Questions

The five speed is the harder part to find lol.you could always see if other members in your area have a spare set up. Or put up a wanted ad. Just because someone isn't actively selling something doesn't mean it isn't for sale

    B210 Suspension Questions

Is something wrong with the a series in it? I know they're not the quickest in the world, but they're workhorses and get great mileage. If you wanna go faster and are OK with doing the fab work to make an l20 or ka work(neither is a drop it in swap) then go for it, just research research research. Otherwise, an a14 or a15 with a little work done to it will be more than enough to get you into trouble. Hell, mine has nothing more than a Weber swapped on and it can get me in trouble...

    B210 Suspension Questions

Just a thought for you if you do upgrade the engine, the b210 only has a h145 rear diff, rated for 100 lb/ft of torque. A stock ka has something over 150. An l20b is right around 100. So to do any swap other than an a series engine and not worry about blowing up diffs you'll need a different one of those too. H150 is good for 125, h165 is good for over 200. Of course, Nissan overbuilt everything on these considering what they went in(the stock a14 makes like 65 torque

1980 720 failed emissions... Not sure what else I can do.

Easy fix. Move across the river to Vancouver. Anything over 25 years doesn't need emissions

How much is my A12/Carbs/Header/Full Exhaust engine set up worth?

hence why I said those of us with a series engines lol. if I didn't already have one bolted to my only a series engine, i'd love to take it.

How much is my A12/Carbs/Header/Full Exhaust engine set up worth?

Just about anyone with an a series enginewants that tranny. The engine I have no clue about. I know the head is rare but no idea how desirable it is
