  1. Another motor swap? NOOOOO!!! :P
  2. Haha, very nice. Thanks for sharing the link, Summit is right up the road from me :) Your rig looks very nice. I have 3" blocks and torsions cranked down to sit on the bump stops, yet your's still looks lower. It might be that your tires fill the wheel wells more than the 185/50s and 205/55s I'm running. Kinda wish there was a legit reason to remove my bed... 620s look mean like that.
  3. That looks really good. Wonder if this is the answer to covering up horrible rolled on house paint :P Did you get your plastidip from DYC?
  4. Hey Willz, slick truck man. I was wondering if you could share the specs on that fuel cell? I have a bed mounted tank in my 620 and would really love to swap it out to a decent fuel cell. Does that cell have baffles or foam blocks to minimize sloshing?
  5. Yo, that head's too rusty to run... :P You need to hurry this up man, I need better material to read at work for next week :poke:
  6. I'm trying to repair and upgrade my suspension on the B210 prior to putting it back on the road. I'm looking for a parts sheet like the one for the 620 on olddatsuns.com so that I can be sure that I purchase enough parts finish everything in one swoop. This car has sat for at least 5 years now and I have no idea if the suspension was maintained by the last driving owner of the car, so I thought it would be better to start fresh. I need seals, bushings, ball joints, steering components, nuts, bolts, ect. Basicly a full rebuild with a few shinies. My B210 is a 78 four door, just in case there are different parts sheets.
  7. Really need a new 3 bolt alternator mount. Trying to have everything finished on the 620 by the 30th. Does anyone know if the 79 200sx uses the thru bolt mount or a mount similar to the 620?

  8. Meh, it looks ok. It's not a 510, but I can see some potential. The BRE looks nice and I like the round headlights on the other one. I wouldn't buy it over a 350/g35 coupe, but over all it is ok. Definitely wouldn't badge this as a remade Datsun, but sadly clay blocks are all we get for new cars today. Now that photoshop of the squared off 510 remake is amazing, but this is more like new chevy meets B210.
  9. Go for it man. It'd be awesome to see a full rat rod 620 running around. You go rat rod and I'll try to figure out if I can get away with going boso :P
  10. Pretty pissed. The shop I took my driveshaft to weekend before last called and said they can't build me a one piece. Supposedly their balancing equipment is broken. Now why the hell would you hold my shaft for two weeks if your equipment was broken?

In reality, that sucks man. I don't see why they held it for so long either. Wasted time.

  11. Might be on the hunt for a matchbox pedestal and plate... Why can't there be more Datsuns in the JYs on the wrong coast?

  12. The best thing you can do is post pics imo. the datsun 1200 site has a lot of information for general build up on the A-series engines, but be realistic with your goals. Without a huge investment, 80-90whp is pretty easily attainable from the A14 with a better carb, better exhaust (possibly headers) and mild head work. According to most of the guys over at the 1200 site you will get the most bang for your buck in head work. If you get a chance, take off your rocker cover and take pictures of the numbers stamped on the head, this will give us more information as to what kind of flow you might be able to achieve. Is this going to be a budget build? If not there are setups making 160-180hp with forced induction, but for the price you will pay to get that setup you could easily get a CA18DET or KA24 and have the same or more HP and, more importantly for a daily, a lot more torque. Personally, I love my A15. I don't plan on breaking any records or racing, but the sound of a well built A-series with dual DCOEs/quad bike carbs and a good exhaust revving to 7500 rpms is wonderful. That is my goal, so the best way for us to help you is for you to tell us what you want. Power? Drivability? Reliability? And remember, pics or ban :)
  13. Well it's about that time of year... Wonder if I can find a seasonal job to help pass the holidays. Less family + more money = More datsun parts and fun times?

  14. Sawzall ftw! Not 100% sure because I've never done it personally, but you are probably looking at cutting the firewall, custom mounting or even building a dash, your sifter position will be odd unless you use a short trans, but it should be possible. Push the engine as far forward as you can, mount the radiator as far forward (towards the grill) as you can, and run an electric fan. You might be able to get away with just light firewall modifications if yo can push the setup forward enough. You will also most likely need a shortened or custom driveshaft. Good luck, hope it all works out and you find some more helpful answers.
  15. My heart hurts... So many honduhs invading ratusn in such a short time...

We should try stacking them in front of the door to stem the tide of Mitsubishis

  16. Wow that front suspension setup sounds great. Do you happen to have a part number or source for that Addco sway bar? I'm very slowly gathering parts for my B210 so I figure while I'm replacing all of the bushings/seals/hoses/ect, may as well do a few upgrades :) According to the 1200 wiki, B210s use 610 front suspension, which is similar to 510 front suspension, but I didn't know if a 510 sway bar would fit/could be made to fit.
  17. 400lb springs o.O You know you want it :P I'll be running 250lb up front but I'm also running an A-series engine. I prefer a sporty/stiff ride, but it all depends on what you want. I haven't figured out my rears yet but I liked my old setup of 250 fronts and 220 rears on my old DA integra, so that may be the direction I go.
  18. I have to replace my fuse block in the 620. Stupid wiring ftl :(

I would love to. I haven't seen any 520/521s for sale out here on the wrong coast. After I got the 620 I saw a 521 for the first time and knew I had made a mistake :P

I just had to replace my fuse box too. I bought one of those new ones off eBay from "designguu" it was $24.77 plus shipping. Shipping from Thailand is expensive, so I order a couple more things from them and sent them a "request total" and they combined shipping for me. I'm surprised, it's good quality. It says "Niles Japan" on it, and it came with a new metal mounting plate and the plastic cover. The only thing I did to it was; I opened up the securing...

prongs at the base of the fuse terminals (the ones that hold the terminals in place). They were a little loose, but now they are in there tight.

  19. So what offset would I need to run to get 13x7s to work running a 185/60 tires? This is going on a B210 and I'm worried about clearing the strut. Fenders will most likely need a roll and pull for these to fit anyway.
  20. Minty thread v2.0 but moar sexier :w00t:
  21. Good news: I don't have to sell my 620 cause TN will issue me a new title using my GA paperwork. Bad News: Now I have 7 months to have both datsuns on the road. Gotta love moving.

  22. Moar better: You know you want it :P
  23. I'm just trying to stay awake at work. Its been a long day
  24. In Aussie land they use King springs. I think there are a few different options, but datsport carries the ones I'm talking about. $250 a set + shipping. From what I understand cutting the spring is a decent option for the street, or if you plan on running 14" or larger wheels you can do the 280zx strut swap for more/cheaper spring options and better brakes to boot.
