Montzzz
Hello, now that i was looking into different size of wheels I came to see that the size of tire is a big part of the combo, however some mount tires that are not supposed to or are not in the chart so here I am confused again. For example, what size tires would you mount on a 15x8 wheels and what size tires on a 15x10. This truck that i like the look has 15x10 wheels and 195-50-15 tires. I would of thought them wheels need something like 220 and up tire size. So please school me on tire sizes with your knowledge Quote Link to comment
demo243
“Proper” recommended fitment per the tire manufacturer… or preferred visual fitment… or performance fitment. lots of different answers to this question. 1 Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
I have 195/65R15 mounted in 15x8 wheels on my 521. This setup is the exact circumference of the original wheel/tire combination. Truck sits pretty low. I did roll the inside of the fenders ever so slightly. No rubs or scrubs. As far as 15x10, no idea. 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
That's a 25" diameter tire I thought the stock diameter was 29" or what ever a 6:00 X 14 tire is. I thought bananahamok's son posted a picture of a tire and tape. Quote Link to comment

I thought bananahamok's son posted a picture of a tire and tape. I did the math/measurements years ago when I was still at the dealership. I was +/- 1/8" total dia. It was close. I tried every 15" tire I could get from our tire distributor. This is what I settled on. I also love the fitment. Tire is thicc, but it fills the fend so well. datzenmike
So a 600:14 is 25" (really need to know) Quote Link to comment
Crashtd420
This always confused me because I though was actually running the correct equivalent size on my rims.... I'm running 195/60r15 on a 15x8 rim..... I guess that's a 24.2 diameter..... Internet search gives varying answers on what a 6.00-14 tire is... Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
The look of the vehicle changes dramatically with the tire choice. A 15x8 with a 205/50 is going to look way different than a 225/55. Do you want rubberband tires or a more muscle look? 1 Quote Link to comment
demo243
Other considerations- smaller diameter then stock is quicker acceleration but you’ll rev out sooner and have a slower top speed (could be an issue for highway cruising- especially if you are running a 4spd). Larger diameter comes with potential clearance issues and will effect acceleration making it feel more sluggish or slow off the line. These can be fixed with a re-gear but not a simple task. I think your working with a truck here- in my opinion trucks looks better with some sidewall. im also not a huge fan of the the stretched look - but too each their own. Also who is mounting the tires. Many shops will not stretch a tire for liability issues. So you may be limited by that. Availability and price play a roll too. Some tire sizes - especially 15s and smaller are only available in high performance tires which come at a cost and also perform poorly in rain or cold weather- so may not be the best for a daily driver Edited February 23 by demo243 2 Quote Link to comment

I know!!! some are around 23.5" diameter and it the diameter that's most important for gearing and speedometer. Quote Link to comment

Ranman72
tire width and rim should be close to the same for a normal look with the tire being slightly wider then the rim you can google 225mm to inches for any tire size to figure out the width if you don't know metric measures hope this helps along with other pictures that people have posted Quote Link to comment
