spudly13
Im gunna keep my eye out on CL for sure! Who knows from what you guys are sayin, meybe ill have better performance out of boosted R1 carbs then when i was using SUs! Quote Link to comment
VintageRice
From what I've researched boosting R1 carbs is MUCH EZier and reliable than other carbs. I know this is hard to believe, but from what I've read almost no mods are needed except running boost pressure lines to the float bowl vents, and the CV diaphram vents. the boost takes care of your fuel compensation automaticly. Thats EZ cheezy. I'd do more research before trying it, but it seems pretty promising....... and you know how KA's love boost...........Muhahahaha.... 1 Quote Link to comment

Most everything I've done to my car since I bought it is here. My main build thread. http://community.ratsun.net/topic/26131-speedy-ka-is-in/ This one started as Ka building questions, but ended up documenting a bit here too. http://community.ratsun.net/topic/33200-na-ka24e-build/ Quote Link to comment
Stupid_fast
One of the reasons I wanted R1 carbs is because of the option for boost in the future... I've seen some crazy boosted snowmobiles with R1 engines on youtube. I wonder how well a twincharger setup would work on an L series. Quote Link to comment

It would be sweet! thats for sure, tho the turbos would be quite small, and im not sure youd gain much from twins on such a small motor vs a bigger single turbo, except that a twin turbo anything is awesome Quote Link to comment

This car... http://speedhunters.com/archive/2012/03/15/car-feature-gt-gt-canyon-carving-king.aspx Makes 680whp out of a 1.8 liter toyota motor...twincharged. I wonder how much you can build a Z bottom end? maybe a Z22 to high revvs and handle all that power? Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
Yeah but I want to mod the head, I mean a head first. Just got these this morning... Don't think they are what I want. Would prefer a constant velocity carb with slides like SUs. Don't know what these are off.... outboard maybe? Quote Link to comment
Stupid_fast
@Datzenmike, wtf carbs are those!? FYI R1 carbs are easy to come by... I found mine within a few days on CL at a decent price. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Outboard marine engine maybe.... ? Doubts it will work well in a car. Quote Link to comment
VintageRice
By the time I get MY carbs running everyone will be doing it. Dangit Mike!! so much for being original.......... :P (kidding, you'll be the guy I PM to ask how to jet mine lol) Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
It won't be a DD really and even then mostly for Canby and the summer so I can mess with it and not worry. Quote Link to comment
