The L series engines that power/powered most of the old Datsuns on this site are much older technology. I know the 4AG Souk had planned on putting in his car was a JDM engine with EFI w/ITB's. What I am saying is that in the toyota/corolla world the 4ag is dated technology. If I had the money and skills I woud replace the L in my truck with a KA or SR 20 in a heart beat; and my plans for my TE72 are a 2RZ swap with cam upgrade, and possible destroking. Like I said, I was in no way critising littlejasons swap, I think it was a great upgrade. But in the world of corollas, these engines are prized as if they are cutting edge technology, and they are not. It's more of a pet peeve of mine I guess.
