RatVonDude
are you guys sure your kids don't just have exceptionally higher IQ's ? I'll stay outta this, however the brilliant will often fall into the spectrum of asbergers and autisms, a diagnosis that has increased 30% in the last few years Quote Link to comment
CrazyHawaiian760
My Son is also Autistic he teaches me something new every day. 1 Quote Link to comment
HRH
I think there's a bigger issue, whether it's just in breeding, as in we've used up our "normal" traits and now autism is becoming more common. Or the hormones they put in x y z is causing it. Hard to say, but it certainly is more common these days, which is a little worrisome if it continues rising. EDIT: I mean breeding purely from a scientific standpoint, don't anyone get offended by that. Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
Autism is more common of a diagnosis now due to being able to recognize it better than in the past. Autism is not hereditary either. Higher IQ, yes-mostly that is true. aspergers is a form of autism, along the higher functioning side of the spectrum. My son is brilliant. And 80% of the time you would never know. But that 20% is pretty rough when it comes out. I wish the best to all of these parents with autistic children. I know what you're dealing with. :console: 3 Quote Link to comment

ggzilla
I want to put an awareness sticker on my dime any ideas? Some put stickers on the bumper, others on the back window. I think it looks best just above the bumper. Quote Link to comment
tr8er
ASD is interesting as fuck. My oldest shows some traits. But I'm in no mood to test for it. If anything, mild. But my wife is a doctor, and it's just plain scary how common it has gotten. Some of it is surely increased diagnosis, but I honestly think the lions share of that statistic is that more people have it. I believe environmental toxins in our daily life is a believable culprit. Even plausible that it happens to the sperm or eggs for all I know. But I'd put something with a positive message on the side rear window. I always prefer decorated sides to rear. I'm the same with Women. 1 Quote Link to comment

flatcat19
He went there. I did. And your wife knows I'm not wrong. I may not be right, but definitely not wrong. 1 Quote Link to comment
bananahamuck
Yes you are absolutely wrong.. Read up on the subject and you will find the doctor that claimed that has came clean and admitted he falsified all of his test results,,,,,,,,,, all of them. What gave that myth such legs was Jenni Maccarthy using her celebrity status as a platform to champion that junk science. Seriously it has been definitively disproved by all of the major groups working on finding the cause. 2 Quote Link to comment
tr8er
A doctor technically lose their license for voicing said opinion. Really. It's fuct. But really, I believe any source of heavy metals is spooky. What they are finding is that toxins are capable of developing problems in genetic code that is passed down. Thus, shit you pull in this life, literally can affect your great grand kids. Quote Link to comment

But my wife is too wrapped up in it. I hear it all. As much as I try to tune it out. There is relation between the two. They may not be the exact cause of every case though. Quote Link to comment

bananahamuck
It's junk science ,, but you are obviously going to believe what you want.
