flatcat19
Just come to this side and steal gübers disk brakes I should. Especially now when he's on this side of town. It's going to be a while before he'll even notice. Rusty? Soak them in some phosphoric acid for a day or two: Not a terrible idea. Home depot? 1 Quote Link to comment
thisismatt
Yes, or you can get higher concentration food grade online...or prob local too if you can find a supplier. The klean strip works, though. I did the front of my hood a couple weeks ago. Worse than I anticipated rust-wise :( Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
Where can I buy the clips that hold the adjuster? Pics from RockAuto don't show this. Missing on 2 wheels so far. Argh. Quote Link to comment
thisismatt
#60? Nissan still has them available. Part 41213-04100 Quote Link to comment
q-tip
Disc brakes? I have a real nice wilwood big brake kid for a king pin datsun pickup..... Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
60 and 61. I'll hit up the Nissan store tomorrow. Rear wheel cylinders are blown. Have been for a while it seems. Going to redo the rears completely. Fronts seemed OK. Going to leave them alone. If I find something wrong, I'll have to spend money. If I spend money on the fronts-it's going to be for discs. Wilwoods? I don't plan on ever needing that much whoa down. Unless the price is right. Whose kit? Krecs? PM me a price. Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
We also found a Black Widow spider who has made the RR drum her home. Sorry, dear. My truck! 1 Quote Link to comment
thisismatt
This is why I cut the whole front off a 720 at a local yard...no more drums, no more kingpins. Well, in the future that is... Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
Time and place. I'm trying to get this thing moving so the family can move from where we are. After new housing is secured...game on. Quote Link to comment
thisismatt
You don't need brakes to get moving :P Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
No...but I need them to stop locking up to stay moving... :poke: 1 Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
So I'm cruising over RockAuto, filling a cart for myself. I'm going to redo the whole rear circuit for peace of mind. The junction block in the back...SAE thread? Anyone know the size of the thread? 1 Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
Just found a new house. Available Dec. 1. Crunch time. My decision, I'm just going to rebuild the whole rear circuit. Switch things around; using more readily available parts...620 rear axle? 2 Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
620 wheel cylinders fit the 521 housing? 1 Quote Link to comment
Charlie69
521s are SAE, 620s are metric. Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
Over look the threads. I will be redoing the whole rear hydraulic circuit. If the bolt spacing is the same, I'd rather use the 620 stuff. If it physically will not fit, that's another story and I'll stay 521. 2 Quote Link to comment
bilzbobaggins
I'm fairly positive it fits you just gotta swap to metric brake line fittings. But if you are redoing everything.... 3 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Left and right adjusters but I don't see why you can't just flip a right and run it on the left side? If you get them apart (or get new) use anti seize on them. I used a torch on mine and vice-gripes on the star wheel. Got it wiggling and slowly turning back and forth till they unscrewed. This saved me from removing those pricks from the backing plate and either a/ braking the knob off the back of the adjuster or b/ not getting those slider shim things back on. Penetrating oil wouldn't do shit on mine... years of driving back roads, wading creeks, mud bogging in the spring and salty slush in the winter. Yours may not be as bad. Don't forget the anti-seize compound. 1 Quote Link to comment

Then a trip to our local Hot Rod shop to fab new lines for the rear. Fun times. 4 Quote Link to comment
