This implies that a $30 split collar set up is somehow not properly done... So properly done is somehow related to spending more to get the same thing? Ratsun is about doing it yourself and spending less to get the same thing or effect.

It means,to each their own,As are alot of what has been posted is ratsun stuff(modifications etc)

Judge when willing to be judged kind of thing,

Its a persons ride,if they "ruin" it its theirs to do so,If they make it a trailer queen its theirs to do so,if they drive it as is(run whatcha brung) its theirs to do so,no one elses. :)

Garage talk

OK.... I find coil overs are over hyped over priced bling. In some cases a brand name coil over might add some monetary value to a vehicle, but not what you paid for them, but lowering the ride by coil overs or split collars are intrinsically the same value.  The $300+ saved could be used for something more worthwhile.

For example you have a 510 with a solid gold oil pan and want $20K for the car. The buyer concludes the car is really only worth $7K and he's paying too much for just another oil pan.

True, but the real overpriced bling is air suspension. All these "bagged" trucks and cars you see around at shows and in magazines spent $5000-15,000 on suspension alone. Retarded.

im lost in this discussion between bags and coilovers. lately ive seen people praising bags, and even companies like ridetech are producing bag systems for old hot rods as performance packages. why had F1  not picked this up and ditched the coilovers already?>

If you have the money and little knowledge there will always be someone more than willing to take it off your hands and tell you it's alright.
