Z-train
The USAF toyed with the idea of retiring the Warthog until the USArmy eagerly replied that they would take them all and any pilots that wanted to continue flying them! The USAF still flies Warthogs! Best front line support to the grunts facing tanks in recent memory. Best quote from an Air Force pilot that I once worked with, "You just can't imagine what fun it is to fly at tree top level, pop over a ridge and grease a whole line of tanks!" Depleted Uranium slugs decimate armor plate. Not to mention crews. Recent memory? Try ever. They are still trying to shit-can them here at D-M. Makes no sense. 1 Quote Link to comment

Jesse C.
Bet the Browning .50 caliber machine guns were long "liberated". These birds where field stripped by ground crews before they where abandoned on site. Now these birds, they where still armed when found 3 Quote Link to comment

Incorrect as stated. The only piece of the continental US to get invaded. As a "Territory", Alaska shares the invasion with Guam, Midway, the Marshall Islands and by extension to our then Protectorate of the Phillipines. Quote Link to comment

True, Alaska did not get statehood until 1959 Thanks for the correction. Quote Link to comment
