He fought over his country trying to stop and onslaught that was unstoppable when he could have just sat and watched it happen. He fought because his country was trying to invade and take over other sovereign nations. And his government was killing millions of Jewish people for no other reason than that they were Jewish. To me, that's indefensible. And it was not what the Allied forces were doing. And I am slightly offended that you would try to equate the two. And the mistreatment of German Americans just for being of German heritage. Any nation involved in ww2 did horrible and unforgivable things, no one nation was any better than any other. The first purchase by the USA was as a dive bomber [A7 I think]since appropiations for fighters was all used up. Pilots and ground crew wired the dive brake and used it as the fighter it was.
