I get that. But there's always a choice. It's just not always an easy one.

And I do realize that is easy for me to say...

Easy for any American to say, our nation hasn't known the level of destruction that occurred across Europe an Asia during WW2 and hopefully we never will.

The whole "Nazi" part of it sort of takes the shine off it for me...

Not all of them where Nazis and most fought for their friends and homeland. He fought over his country trying to stop and onslaught that was unstoppable when he could have just sat and watched it happen. Yes, he was the enemy, but you can fault the man for trying to do the same job Allied boys where trying to do for their friends and countries.

He fought because his country was trying to invade and take over other sovereign nations. And his government was killing millions of Jewish people for no other reason than that they were Jewish. To me, that's indefensible. And it was not what the Allied forces were doing. And I am slightly offended that you would try to equate the two.

And for future reference, when I put one of these   after something, it's usually a joke.

You are correct the US didn't do anything atrocious.....wait....what about the thousands of Japanese Americans taken from their homes and put into concentration camps for no other reason than BEING JAPANESE. And the mistreatment of German Americans just for being of German heritage. Any nation involved in ww2 did horrible and unforgivable things, no one nation was any better than any other.

No anger, just information.

Maybe you should read some history books and some personal biographies. And none of this was meant as a joke.

Back in fact to WW1 when German sauererkraut was relabeled as "Liberty Cabbage", sounds like US REP of House Representative's "Liberty Fries" anti French knee cap reaction doesn't it? Screw the labels, enjoy the food!

By the way, Enrico Fermi led the US charge to split the atom in Chicago even though he was an :Enemy Alien".

Only 7% of Krauts were Nazi's.
