Don't worry, I've thrown my fair share of gloves, goggles, random tools across the garage like a 2 year old. laugh.gif

1977 Datsun 620, now with permanent frame rails!

I'm running the 6" bags all around.

Even though these are the parts, they are not designed to fit any specific truck and take fabrication to install.

Hey noticed you had the pass side of the floor done as well. Did you give up posting?

We all appreciate watching your progress, so please share your skills and knowledge.

-everybody

P.S. I wanna personally say thank you since you opened my eyes on a new way of loving my Datsun truck. When money comes, I shall do the same ;)

Bolted the fenders on. Was a bit of work, had to chase out all the holes with a tap (6x1.0 for those interested, and my local Lowes carries bolts that will work for the fenders) and drill out and tap several bolts that were broken off during dis-assembly 6 years ago.

I'm pretty happy with the fender gap on the driver's side, considering all this cab has been through (cut apart, welded back together, and dropped a couple times)

The passenger side leaves a little to be desired.

I've worked on it off and on over the last couple of months. I found another 620 on CL so I decided to go look at it. When I get there, the seller states to me that he is only selling it because he can't find a motor for it. I told him I was only buying it because I had a motor for it. Since I have a fresh KA laying around, I decided to sell him my l20b out of the truck. So that started the process of getting it to turn over. It's fun trying to figure out why in the hell you swapped the + and - wires on the coil over 10 years ago.

My first issue was this, the PO put some speaker wire in for were the fusible link should go off the positive battery terminal. This literally caught on fire the first few times.

Ghetto rigged a replacement just to get it to crank.

Speaking of cranking, for the first time in 10 years and 12 hours of chasing wires later:

So of course, now that the truck runs, what is the first thing to do?

I didn't even finish my first beer before we had it out. I've gotten real good at puling this motor. Now it's time to mount the KA in, and hope I can close the hood.
