volksmike
I had to get my semi daily driver V-dub back on the road before I could parts for the Datsun. The brakes on the truck are not right. The pedal goes to the floor before they engage. I checked the adjustment on the rear shoes and replaced the master cylinder (full of nasty stuff). The brakes do stop the truck, just all the way to the floor. With the engine running, pushing the pedal causes a change in the sound of the engine. So, I figure I will put a booster on it and see what that does. Quote Link to comment
808DA6
Wow! Nice Fastback mang! Euro fogs? Sweet. I never realized how long the nose was on those. It would be a HUGE undertaking (..and probably too spendy), but would anyone else like to see a monster inline-6 twin turbo sitting under the front "bonnet" on that thing? -Brian Quote Link to comment
volksmike
My last type 3 (squareback wagon) had a Ford 351 windsor V8 mounted midengine. That was a wild ride to say the least:blink: Quote Link to comment

Neighbor has a 2.5Legacy motor in his Vanagon, and it's no bigger than the original "vasserboxer". Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
Nice dub, can't wait to see how the 620 turns out :D Quote Link to comment
volksmike
I have a Subu Legacy in the yard that was my mothers ride. It is pretty nasty, but the motor is super tight. She thinks she will be able to sell it, I'm waiting her out...:D Then I can play... Quote Link to comment
volksmike
Ok got my lazy ass outside to take some pics. Disregard the tall grass, it has rained a lot in the past two weeks. Besides, the wife will be sure to let me know about:rolleyes: Quote Link to comment

Farmer
Nice 620. Wish I had the chrome piece on the front windshield larry Quote Link to comment
volksmike
notice the last pic... It is a dent in the cowl where the hood hinge is hitting the underside. Overall, the truck is not too bad, there are some areas that need to be replaced because of rust. But it is a 30 year old truck. Quote Link to comment
volksmike
Did anybody find a source for the side quarter window rubbers? I haven't gotten a chance to see if my local Nissan dealer is willing to parts hunt. I need window rubber all around. I saw a person on E-Bay from Australia and was wondering if anybody has delt with them. They had a number of parts. Quote Link to comment
Jester
It will be fun to find the window rubber for that truck. You have the same window trim as my '79. The chrome sits inside the rubber. I'm having a hell of a time locating them. Keep us posted if you find a sorce. Nice truck. Quote Link to comment
volksmike
Old VW window rubber has chrome that sits inside a groove. I'm going to see how close the cross section is and let you know. VW weather strips are cheap.:D Quote Link to comment
