scooter stuff
Had a real good time at the show today, got lots of compliments on the dime! Some nice other dattos Only sucky part about today was driving home. Half way the trans decided it no longer wanted to live on this planet anymore, and I had to get a tow home. Luckily I got a guys number who's got all the parts I need for a 4speed swap! Stay tuned Got any more pics of the black/silver 2 dr? Quote Link to comment

mattyhacks71
Yes...I know I've been slacking! The trans still isn't back in the car but I'm planning to get some work done soon. This has been the distraction It was having overheating issues..then timing chain needing doing...then the head gasket went. So all of that killed my motivation to work on the dime The Datsun updates will come soon! Quote Link to comment

mattyhacks71
This car still exists, not getting driven right now because the trans swap still isn't done lol 3 Quote Link to comment
MicroMachinery
The less it gets driven the better. Not many survivors around, these days. Quote Link to comment
mattyhacks71
^Not sure if I agree with you there. I'd love to be driving this car lots, and I don't think driving a car a lot will remove its "survivor" title if it can be called one. Plus I wouldn't consider my car a survivor, its been hit and repainted, not that I care anyways. I would however consider it clean and unmolested, which I am proud of :D Quote Link to comment
MicroMachinery
Yeah, you're right. Keep daily driving it and parking it where other vehicles have access to it ^_^ ... what's the worst that could happen? Best of luck, kid. Quote Link to comment
Draker
Those are some ugly pics.. damn... also looks like that wagon locking gas cap is still usable. 2 Quote Link to comment

mattyhacks71
Bumping dead thread with progress. So after a year or so of not touching this thing I got to work getting the 4 speed in. Installed rebuilt 4 speed with Exedy clutch kit Whats holding me up now is the trans cross memeber. This is the one that came with the 4 speed, similar to the auto trans cross member but neither are anywhere close to lining up the body and trans  ^Installed with auto cross member, notice how far away trans bolts are?!?!?!?!?!?! (Even with it flipped the other way) The one that came with the 4 speed is similarly far off. What cross member do I need and why didn't it come with this trans? Thanks in advance guys Matt Quote Link to comment
