bananahamuck
My old Pinzgauer. 1975 712m, ex-Austrian military. Purchased by Mike Warn of Warn Industries in 1993 after it was de-commissioned from the military. Then built up for the 1994 Warn Transylvania Trophy held in the Ukraine. Mike drove it himself in the race. It then lived in Europe until 2000 when it was imported to the USA. It has been all over the world including racing in Morocco. I bought it in 2002, sold it in 2005, bought it back in 2013 and sold it the same year. Pretty cool truck with a rich and well documented history, came with a video of Mike driving it in the 94 Trans Trophy. 6-wheel drive, shift on the fly, 6-wheel lockers shift on the fly at any speed, 4-cyl air cooled engine, portal axles, independent suspension. Central backbone chassis with a unibody on top of that. Very unique truck! This was my 04 Tacoma. Bought it bone stock n 2007. Outfitted with with super charger, 7th injector, Doug Thorely headers, free flow exhaust, small pulley on S/C, lift, aux fuel tank, frame strengthening, custom bumpers and more. Out fitted the back for camping with a fridge, 20gal fresh water tank on a pressurized system, storage bins, 2nd battery, camping lights out the back and much more! I then drove it to Panama and back twice! Over 25,000 miles put on the truck in Latin America over 7 months and the truck never let me down. Lived out of the truck for the majority of that 7 months. Traded it in 2012 for a v8 FJ 60 Land Cruiser. Cheers Man,,, you make me wanna go punch that "most interesting man in the world" in the face 1 Quote Link to comment
paradime
I always thought if it can't haul a pile of busted up rocks to your buddy's house it is no longer classified as a "truck". A shiny vagina maybe, but not a truck. Quote Link to comment

A shiny vagina maybe, but not a truck. If you only have one truck then yes it needs to be able to haul loads, at least a tool box to a buddies house or a dirt bike to a trail head, but if you have a second truck then game on - totally impractical, crazy low, crazy power, or full show, that ever turns you on. Truck by design not always by use Quote Link to comment

RMP&O
Man,,, you make me wanna go punch that "most interesting man in the world" in the face Thanks, I think that is a compliment!? The road trip through Latin America was a once in a lifetime opportunity. A trip I will remember forever. And I gots stories for days about that trip. I don't speak fluent Spanish, just some cuss words, and did the first trip solo, just me and my dog. No GPS just old crappy maps from the supermarket. A month camping on the beach in Baja surfing and fishing. All the way down the west coast of Mexico, ie the Mex200. I then picked up a buddy in Belize and we made our way to Panama where we surfed, kayaked, fished and enjoyed life for a month. I then dropped my buddy of in Costa Rica and drove home solo. Got rear ended in San Salvador, El Salvador. Friggin smashed the shit out of the hot chica's car who hit me. My Taco, barely had some scratches in the powder coated bumper. Crossing borders is an adventure in it's self! Many many things like this happened on the first trip. On the 2nd trip, I bee-lined it to Panama in 10days, rented a house on the beach and kicked it there for 3 months. By the way driving to Panama in 10-days is no easy feet. Texas takes over a day in it's self! Mexico I can knock down in 2-days if I push super hard and drive 12+hrs a day down the Gulf Coast. Central America takes 5-6 days minimum, 7 is more realistic. It is exactly 4,600 miles from house to the village I go to in Panama via the most direct route, but CA is slow going with the average speed of 45mph or less. I have not done a trip since 2011 and am itching bad for another. Looking like Baja for 2-3 weeks is all I can muster this winter but I will take that! Cheers Quote Link to comment
