flatcat19
I do see a problem,.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I5v8bwnGxMc short haul only, the cells take up the sleeping space Not in the concept design. Tons of room when cells will be placed lower. Better CG too. Quote Link to comment

q-tip
Smoke walked off into the forest to die like an old bear does. Smoke walked off into the forest to eat and old bear, that he probably killed with his bare hands. 1 Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
Weight will be a problem with cell trucks. Weight is little concern when 100% torque is applied instantly/continuously. Minus weight of a diesel drivetrain and fuel...Getting pretty even. Long range? That is yet to be seen. But things are looking promising so far. Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
Wait until one blows the fuck up though. That drawing board will be set back by 10 years, minimum. 1 Quote Link to comment

KoHeartsGPA
Ya, gato, I meant weight as per payload, my bad for not being clear, most shipping companies require carriers to scale 45,000+ lbs, those engineering members need to factor that in when designing the trucks. Quote Link to comment

flatcat19
Wildlife Dept. got called in. I started to disassemble as much as I could without removing anything. Wildlife showed and we discussed game plan. Plan in place, we dived in elbows deep to this Scion xB. 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Hydrogen is the lightest element, so I don't see a problem. Quote Link to comment

Lockleaf
Super sweet old video. Explains in detail how differentials work. Kinda neat for those who are unclear how the wheels spin at different rates. 3 Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
So...Back to my story...Fuck Toyota, BTW. Customer driving, passes through intersection. Vehicle stalls. Customer opens hood. That little fella is sitting atop engine chewing on wires for main engine harness. Towed in. My writer grabs me and says nothing as she walks me out to car. Tow truck driver just starts laughing as he opens the hood for me. I scream profanity and jump away. This little fucker put up a fight We wrestled him for half an hour to get him out of the engine bay. Yellow bellied marmot. This guy was a bit bigger than a pro-sized football. Wildlife says they get about 3 times that size. Little guy gnawed a 3/16" dent in my Snap-On steel prybar. Wildlife says there was no way he could pass up a phone call like this. Lol. 5 Quote Link to comment

flatcat19
I thought it was a beaver at first. I have never seen one of these before. Washington has 3 species of marmot. Only 1 in this area though. He was cool looking. Sent pics to the wife. Her reply was "No. You can't bring that home." 2 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I do, when they wreck! You watch too many Hollywood movies. Exploding 'hydrogen' bomb or the Hindenburg. Hydrogen gets a bad rap. A cup of gasoline has the energy equivalent to 14 sticks of TNT. Propane is also highly flammable and vaporizes easily. They are no problem. Hydrogen, gas and propane aren't explosive by themselves, they have to be mixed with air. I think the hydrogen cell absorbs and holds the hydrogen in a solid medium, it isn't a gas tank that can rupture and spill it all. There at 5.25 million vehicle accidents a year. In 2015 only 175,000 involved any fire. That's one in thirty. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
We have a unique species on Mt Washinton. First time I saw one I said "It's only a groundhog!!" No one was amused but out east that what they are. Local conservationists have spent hundreds of thou breeding them from a population of only 40 twenty years ago and releasing them. They become $800 snacks for the local cougars who have also increased in number and no one knows why.. Cute lil bastards and they whistle to warn each other when startled...... just like a groundhog. Went over to their breeding pens once once when on a job up the mountain. The Marmot is actually a.... squirrel. Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
The whistle? Ha. He was screaming at us. It was quite alarming. Half the dealership was surrounding us as we were chasing this guy. Well, beats cleaning up after mice that got ahold of a Prius. Quote Link to comment
