When painting wheels any color other than black, make sure to have the tires removed or do it right before getting new ones. The Saturn I just bought my daughter had badly scratched and curb rashed aluminum wheels, so I decided to sand them smooth and paint them a metallic charcoal gray. They looked great, but the BRAND NEW tires were also gray! I figured if I sprayed them with black magic tire spray heavily prior, the paint wouldn't stick, but I was WRONG! It was a pain in the ass to get the paint off.Took a lot of scrubbing with a Scotch Brite pad and a stiff bristled brush and full strength car wash soap. Which had me cussing and complaining... WHY IN THE HELL DO ALL NEWER TIRES HAVE TO HAVE GROOVED SIDEWALLS? Quote Link to comment

This thing has paid for itself so many times over that it's crazy. That, and I don't have to listen to the advice of some nose picker about the tire/wheel combo that I am running.
