]2eDeYe
I still need to get those pictures for you. I haven't forgot, just been busy fighting my water heater and other household breakdowns. Quote Link to comment
Boxcar
I ran across a NAPCO converted D-20 the other day. The guy brought it to the shop for rebuild. He doesn't want the Datsun conversion left on it. These parts would allow you to bolt a D-20 directly to you're Datsun tranny.........As a married T-case . Kind of an interesting set up. I prefer divorced so I will be putting the parts up for grabs. Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
Is the cast long nose adapter? I like that setup as it doesn't require an intermediate shaft. Quote Link to comment
ratsun73
so would i still need {2e's t case...if he wants to sell it. Quote Link to comment
Boxcar
Long nose. And yes you'd still need a D-20 T case Quote Link to comment
ratsun73
ok Quote Link to comment
ratsun73
so i found out today that the jeep lights and the datsun lights have the same connector, and the jeep ones are bigger. so i will be getting my u bolts on Friday, decided to save for the high steer knuckle but i will start the soa when i get the u bolts. I think the rear might sag under the weight of the bed so should I do an add a leaf. another question. This is for any one, if you are on this thread please answer, I cant decide between a custom flat bed a tube bed or the stock bed. help    :( Quote Link to comment
SandyMush620
Personally, I think the stock bed is part of the overall visual appeal of the truck. I was just thinking about that today as I continue to restore mine. Plus, when I see a flatbed I assume the original bed succumbed to rust. 2 Quote Link to comment
Boxcar
I'd have to agree with Sandy. On the rear spring question: It's to early in the build to tell. Do the final adjustments to the spring packs once you have completed the build. 1 Quote Link to comment
Boxcar
Flat top knuckles : Save for the arms , you own the knuckles. 1 Quote Link to comment
Boxcar
Here is a pattern for the knuckle mods: And here are pics of the arms I'm building: These arms are in ruff out at this point. I will do the final machining once I get the test fitting done. Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
Great tech Boxcar. Parts Mike offers an exchange service for the flat tops and you can also arms fairly inexpensively on ebay if you don't have machining capabilities. http://www.partsmike.com/index.php?crn=219&rn=1377&action=show_detail I got some pictures for you of my spare t-case, but I am having conflicting emotions on the loss of a spare (I've gone through one or two cases) Let me think some more on that and check my storage unit to make sure I have enough extra parts to satisfy my hoarding needs. :) Quote Link to comment
ratsun73
wow that will be way better. [2e its ok i can wait  ... really it fine B) Quote Link to comment
ratsun73
so just the knuckles will clear a soa? Quote Link to comment
Boxcar
No . You need to machine and drill you're knuckles (use the patern I posted) . Add the 9/16 studs, buy or fab the new arms. Then it will clear you're springs. Quote Link to comment
Boxcar
Here is a divorced Dana 20 for $150 http://portland.craigslist.org/clc/pts/4175006048.html You might want to jump on this as it apears to be a short nose NAPCO..... If you are not interested let me know quick. I will grab it. Quote Link to comment

Loren O
and you could get lucky and find a wagoneer with a 401 V8 :devil:I 'm liking this ! Quote Link to comment
ratsun73
just some more picts. do you think i really need more lift? Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
I think that axle needs to move further forward. You should have, at the minimum, 2 inches between the tire and the back of the wheel well in that last pic. Better to move it even further if you can to get an really good approach angle. Quote Link to comment
jrock4224
yeah polar opposites .....I would definitely at least move it back to centered in wheel opening steves is out there but I know what he is saying about approach ... prolly not much his truck wont get up and over with the forward seeting of his axle ... definitely move it forward Quote Link to comment
