will the calipers fit under the 15 inch rims? i found a minor crack the the housing of the front axle so i will need to weld that. also is my rear axle normal because it has 3 drilled, uncovered holes in the outer tube. i am jest waiting on a trailer then expect regular up dates, i hove been busy putting on a roof for my neighbor. :hmm:

dad said i could drive the subaru to high school so i am reconsidering the 360. beet super busy on the new shop so not much time to work an the project. going to try to start the 360.

360 is a great motor if you can afford the gasoline required to run it :)

This is an artical by a Volvo owner. The process is the same. And the info is good. You're points are Delco. Not Bosch. 

You can also ask you're Grand Father to show you how. 

It's a simple thing to do . Used to be the first thing any kid lirned about engine maintanance. Now it's kind of a lost art.

figured it out and now the engine is running!!!i have done points before but this setup was a bit different.

That's normal. You can upgrade the ignition system in that 360 fairly easily. I used the later motorcraft system, but it isn't super reliable. You can get a GM HEI style system that is a much better system all around. If you doo, keep the points stuff around as spares.

thinking i might design a custom fuel injection system for the l16.

so i can get a 231t case but will it work?

Not sure if that will bolt up to your transmission or not. You'll have to do a bit of research on that one.

the 231 is a 23 spline which will not work. :crying: so i need a different one.

FINALY some progress, got the back axle off and the new on on. had to grind of the shock mounts because they were in the way of the u bolts, so i will need to re weld them.

will probably put the 2 inch lift blocks on the back and build some 3 to 4 inch lift shackles to go with the front spring over conversion. hopefully i will also be able to find some new rear datsun springs for the front because the jeep ones are to stiff.
