ratsun73
i need to find some sheet metal for floor repairs, any ideas? Quote Link to comment
ratsun73
not sure if i really like the red frame. might just paint it black what do you guys think? Quote Link to comment
Boxcar
That's primer. The frame when completed was shot gloss black. 14-16ga sheet for floors Interesting idea, pushing back the radiator. I'm running a direct drive fan for max cooling and simplicity. But I like you're idea. I may have a window regulator for the passenger side. I will look for it and get back to you. ratsun73
IM SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS. :hyper: thanks again boxcar, the guy who i bought it from sold the tires and radiator :sneaky: but my neighbor was nice enough to loan me the 33's of his truck and the bolt pattern fit! :D cant wait to start getting all the parts i need, i think the previous owner put a 2 to 4 inch lift on this because the shocks are not stock, it also has a glass pack  and Grant stereing wheel. ]2eDeYe
If those are 33"s then it definitely has a bit of lift. Quote Link to comment
Boxcar
I agree. It's been lifted a bit. When you are all done, sell the grill and remaining parts. You should turn a profit. By the way. Was it a tree that killed that Jeep? Quote Link to comment
ratsun73
no the snow that built up on the top from sitting on top of snohomish pass spelled the end of it. i just did some more work on it and found a motorcraft aluminum carb an some air horns! how much will a unbroken jeep grill go for? Boxcar
That one in good shape ---- $100 low -$200 high..... Quote Link to comment
ratsun73
has 1 small crack but otherwise it is really good. there are two lines that lead to the transmission and they are both cut. what do these go to, also do you happen to have a radiator that would fit the jeep so i can start it? Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
The two lines are likely transmission cooler lines, they will run from the rad to the trans. You should be able to run it without a radiator, just don't keep it running more than 5 minutes. Quote Link to comment
ratsun73
can i run it without a trans cooler? Quote Link to comment
Boxcar
Yes. Join the 2 lines with a hose so they recirculate. Quote Link to comment
ratsun73
ok how does the quadratic work? in has a lever next to the seat and a switch in the glove box. Quote Link to comment
Boxcar
If that jeep is a quadratrack you are still going to need a T-case. The quadratrack is a chain driven beast. Floor shift is 2 and 4 wheel . The lever in the box is low range. Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
Sounds like someone made it a part time case at least. It should work for you until you can find a better case. Do you know what transmission is there? If it's the TH400 you have a few options for t-cases. Quote Link to comment
ratsun73
how do i find out what trans it has and how do i id the front axle? i don't know if the t case is stock. Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
Front axle is a Dana 44 if it has disc brakes. You can tell what transmission you have by the pan pattern. http://www.jeeptech.com/trans/ That is a good place to get id info. There is quite a bit of other tech on that page that will benefit you as well. :) Quote Link to comment
Boxcar
Load pics of the axle cover / and the tranny pan. Quote Link to comment
