Say um, you wouldn't want to sell that Earl Hughes license plate frame would ya? Provided nobody else has called dibs.

Datsunfreak turned me on to the FREE rear clip and wants the frame, so he gets it. I also got the rear windscreen for free. I looked on the wrecking yard parts locator website for 1200 rear windscreens and there were 3 for sale in North America. I would say that is a HUGE SCORE!!!

Difference between the restored rear wheel and the 40 year old unrestored front wheel.

Restored wheel looks really nice on the car. Now I need new lug nuts and center caps to complete the look. The chrome valve stem and valve stem cap was a nice touch. $2.00 at Discount Tire.

The wheels didn't look too bad until I put the restored wheel on the car. Amazing how dull they look compared to the worked over wheel.

175 70 13s fill out the stock fender well nicely. Same tires as on my daily driver Honda Civic so they are dual purpose. These wheels have more offset than stock. They sit out a lot more than the stock wheels so I think that 205 60s might not fit the stock fenders. I really want Toyo Proxes 205 60 13 RA1 or R888 DOT Competition tires.

Yes, they will.

The whole front end is '81 210 stuff, not 1200. So you already have the "big" rotors, but a caliper upgrade isn't a terrible idea.

Awsome! Got 4 tires that hold air and the 510 should be at my storage shed in Childress this weekend. Bob will look for the clean title tomorrow. What would the caliper upgrade be?

I thought you were dropping it at my place? B)

No idea. We'll have to sort one out. ^_^

FWIW, if you want to keep the 14s on it, you could just cut out the middleman and put 280ZX struts/brakes on it? They are huge by comparison and still fit behind 14s easily, and even some 13s.

Finally, progress towards my goal of a 1200 autocross car. Yesterday was exhausting. 0400 wake up, 0600 departure from the Denton Airport in the tow rig. Arrive at Grillet Automotive in Childress TX at 0930.

We toured the property looking at all the neat old Fords, Mercurys, Lincolns, DeSotos, Dodges, Plymouths, and even a few Chevys. 20 acres and about 200 cars. At least 40 '56 Fords.

Not really a wrecking yard. More like an automobile retirement home. Everything is a complete car, nothing parted out. When we were ready to load the 510 the owner asked us how we were going to load it. We replied with a come along. He said I can load it in 2 minutes, I'll get the fork lift. He used the fork lift with great skill and care. Didn't put a single mark on the car.

Let's try this again.

The Dime is loaded and tied down. Ready to go to it's new home at Datsunfreak's shop.

Depart Childress at 1100. Fuel and lunch stop at Wichita Falls TX at 1230. Just West of Wichita Falls on US 287.

Hit Ft. Worth traffic at 1520. On a Saturday. Next 10 miles takes 30 minutes. Arrive at Datsunfreak's shop at 1550. Datsunfreak's not so shiny new Dime at its new home. I get the L16 for my 1200 coupe. He doesn't need the engine because the Dime will get an outrageous engine to go with the restoration. That's what Datsunfreak does. He makes a Diamond from a lump of coal. Cant wait to see how the lump of coal i stumbled across turns out.
