Vic and I picked this up a few weeks ago.

 

 

Sometimes car sit around for years sometimes just hours before we make a plan.

 

Then these guys came over, Cody, Jean, Eric and Joey

 

Some engine pulling some sanding and so on

 

Orgasmic

 

had a L18 / A87 head down draft weber, with a "blown head gasket"

We had a L20B with SUs sitting there and thought let just swap

Bye Bye

 

Out with the old in with the new (kinda)

 

To make a long story short, oil pan was wrong and the L20 didn't fit (fuck)

So the guys pulled it back out and changed it. Stuffed it back in. DONE

 

Few simple things to do wire it, make sure the hood fits

We pulled the doors because they don't open and the pink has got to go. I think we have a set of white doors laying around somewhere.

 

The boys did some sanding, then Vic took over.

 

We are going to get rid of the pink, spray some white Iron Clad, smash the front to the ground with coilovers and then decide on wheels.

 

Lets not get carried away :)

Yep your right, but I was told the L20 was just pulled from a 510, the other car could of had a modified cross member.

I'll ask the guy about the oil pan. I saw a video of it running in his 510... Had to be a modified crossmember. Unless he just crammed it in.... I did it once because I didn't have a correct oilpan at the time. It worked, it was horrible but it worked.

So the L20 Eric installed seems to be locked up, WTF, but we picked up a 200sx with a running great L20B and dog leg 5 speed.

Also picked up some wheels at Eagle Rock

So the first L20B seemed to be locked up ????

We picked up a 200sx runs great everything's together and seem like an ez swap.

 

So while on my Birthday vacation in Vegas, My buddy says I'll take care of that swap, while your gone. Cool seems ez enough.

I mentioned to him he needed to change the oil pan for sure, we done that before.

 

We get back the simple engine swap did not go well, nothing fit etc etc. (200sx oil pan still on the the L20B) :w00t:

 

Atom is hanging out with us and figured he could finish her up, step one raise the engine and swap the oil pan.

Pulled the fender to fix the big ass dent in it

Little heat, hammer dolly, stud gun and a welder, it is now good to go

Not sure what it is, but i like this 510, keep up the good work guys =P

 

and on a side note.. Have you ever built, or thought of building, like some sort of street fighter? like, fix all the rust, but leave the welds, and multiple colors and so on exposed with just a clear over it?

 

i like the more ratty stuff, gives it charactor to me B)

 

No matter what though, you do great work, and i hope too see more progress soon :thumbup:
